Got as far as 30k.

Writing days were plagued with irrational sleep.

Would wake up. Go to public places. Fell asleep every 10 min of typing for 10~15 min each time. Went on for five hours, even after switching venues.

This continued to happen across several days even with proper rest. Though if I did it at home, would only stay awake in 5 minute bouts

I cracked and put it on hold until visual novel can be completed.

I made it to an amazing... 1000 words! I had roughly two hours to write, so it doesn't surprise me XD. As long as you finish it someday (and are used to finishing stuff), everything is all right.

I reached 50K, but I didn't reach the end of the story. I'm going to rewrite the whole thing one day, when I figure out where I'm trying to go with it... What I wrote deviated a lot from what I originally planned.

For those who didn't reach 50K, do you plan to continue writing your story in the coming months?

I think I got around 15k words. but then I lost interest in my story, and kind of just stopped writing.

@cuttlefish: Yeap - most definitely. I'm loving the story's progress along with the character development. I especially like the protagonist I came up with who's far, far away from a Mary-Sue including the rest of the cast and the setting. The story's gonna be my main focus now - fanfics and VN fiction writing will definitely be "on the low", so to speak.

I made it to 45,000 words.

My arm gave out the last couple of days. :(

I only made it to about 37k this year. A lot of things happened both with the novel and real life. By the third week, I couldn't stand to look at that word document. I think I'll give it until February

Congratulations on your win! I'm not too familiar with Smashwords, but do you have a blog or social network following? Promoting it on your blog or via Twitter or Facebook is probably a good starting point (as those options tend to be free!) Good luck!

Here you have my book for free (only this day and tomorrow).

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B1W492G

Warning: It's in spanish.

If you are going to read it, I just ask for a comment in the host page (Amazon).
