I have been trying to do pieces of art for major holidays because it's something fun to do to play with themes and since Halloween is coming up in less than a month I started thinking about what to do.

Then I thought maybe other artists would like to join in too.

And then I though, hell, maybe other people in general might like to join in.

So, to celebrate Halloween, I'm inviting other people to join me. This will just be something fun for us all to take part in.

The Rules:

1. It is to be 'HALLOWEEN' themed. Monsters, Trick or Treat, Jack o' Lanterns, Horror, the whole shebang.
2. It must include one of the characters from a VN you have created or are working on. In the case you don't have a VN, feel free to adopt someone else's. Everyone should feel free to take part.
3. Keep it short. It must be a single piece of work (NOT a VN, though you can if you want). I'm putting guidelines down for 1000 words for writers, 3 minutes for musicians, artists have to stick to one canvas. Obviously I don't really care if you don't do this, but it is in the interests of making sure you don't neglect your own projects

You have until the 31st, whenever that happens to be where you are. Feel free to post before then here as well.

If anyone has any questions, ask away. If not, go forth and spread spooky things >:D

Let me see if I understand you right. As an artist I should draw something showing VN characters (either from my project or someone elses, though mine is prefered) in a halloween theme, preferably something that tells a story?

Pretty much, though it can be just a single image (they tend to tell subtle stories anyway XD). I AM leaving it open if artists would like to do simple, one page comics or sequential images though. It just has to tie into one piece.

Is this going to be like the Secret Santa, except all spooky? I kinda regret missing that, I should have taken part.

Just there will be no swapping this time, since it's kind of short notice. You can just do your own thing and then we can all post and giggle over it. I WILL be doing Secret Santa again this year though, so be sure to take part ... It's not that far away.

I shall watch from side...or maybe if I manage to find time... 1000 word it not a lot of text. lol

AHAHA...... But I wanna try anyway~~~ Count me in! *U* But instead of as a contest, I think it would be more fun as just a community thing where we're all working on spooky stuff at the same time and then we get to share with everyone (especially since it's short notice)!

Can it be from a VN you aren't currently working on, but one you have plans for?

YES PLEASE! Dunno if contest or not...But I would like to participate haha.

@Victoria, Hmmm, tricky question. I would strongly recommend doing something for a project that is already in progress (so people can go check out it out) but I wouldn't say no flat out because this might be the best choice for some people. So I think people can make there own choices. Might be good to explain what it's for though when you post so people can get an idea about it.

I'm not sure how the contest would work, since we'd need designated judges, and prizes that everyone would be able to receive. It'd be easy for Deviantart, but not everyone has, or uses their account. I like the thought of it just being a fun event, but if anyone has a good idea for a contest, I wouldn't mind that either.

Yeah, I think non-contest would probably be the funnest, least stressful option.

Are you guys happy with the theme being 'Halloween' or would you like something more specific like 'Monsters'?

Looks interesting. I want to participate too (Halloween is one of my favorite celebration~!). I'm okay with the non-contest. It will be really fun. 0w0
