What are your favourite VN Characters?

Unfortunately I still haven't played that many VNs, but I do have a few favourites from things that I've watched or played.

I loved Hanako because she was the character that I just wanted to pick up and cuddle. I thought her back-story and characterisation were really well thought-out and poignant, and her design is just adorable.

Watched someone else's playthrough of one of the routes and I couldn't help but like Saya, despite being simultaneously terrified of her. Usually I find characters like her unsettling (for obvious reasons), but I felt that she was really genuinely likeable, despite her true nature. Plus I love her hair.

I'm not sure whether to count this, as I've only managed to read a volume of the manga adaptation so far; my phonophobia means that I'm having to psych myself up before playing or watching this. From what I've seen though, Rena is probably the thing that is most terrifying thus far. I hear that later on Mion takes up the crazy role more, but I can't comment on what I haven't seen. Hence Rena, who is probably the scariest character I've read in a long time, simply because of how unstable she seems. I don't necessarily like her, but she's made the biggest impression on me out of all of them.

Reading through these, I've realized just how many characters I adore! When I first saw this thread in the General Discussion though, my first thought was "Saya!" She was the first character I grew to love considering Saya no Uta was my first visual novel experience.
But now I have to rummage in the character department of my brain and fish out the best characters that I've grown to love through visual novels e_e.
Most recently, there's Tomoya from Clannad. Granted however I did watch the anime first >.< but I still loved his character in the visual novel~
Then of course Merui from Re: Alistair @__@ She's so spunky! I also loved all the bachelors as well n_n
Then, since I saw others talking about Phoenix Wright, I have to say Emma is also one of my favorite characters~ She inspires me in all things science related XD
and that's all I can think of at the moment... I need to play more visual novels x__x

I haven't played that many VN's either, but I notice some familiar titles, so I'm going to add them in:

Rin from Katawa Shoujo: An armless person should make for an interesting character. Why? Because I think the arms are extremely important appendages of the human torso, without which I wouldn't be able to do about 90% of the things I do, which includes typing this. Another bonus point for the fact that she paints with her feet.

Dr. Watson from To The Moon: What can I say? The dude's amazing, and it helps that he's also pretty hilarious, to boot.

Rider from Fate/Stay Night: Casting aside the fact that she almost fulfills my kinkiest dreams to the bill, I think the changes in her background are extremely interesting, especially from somebody like me, who enjoys mythology quite a bit. Also, her voice makes me <33333.

Takeda Akane from Hanachirasu: Seeing as he's the character I use for my icon here, I must say that I do like him quite a bit. I've enjoyed several Nitroplus works (and one Nitro+Chiral, ala Togainu no Chi), and I think I just appreciate the insanity of his character, as well as his badass aura. It also helps that he says some of the neatest lines I've read from a character yet.

#1. Undoubtedly, Kuu, from Ripples, by sakevisual.(I like that VN the most).

#2. I also like the cheerful Nonami, from Homeward by Samu-Kun (that VN is so touching).

Okay I must say it again even if it isn't really a visual novel, but more of an RPG Dr. Neil Watts will forever be my favorite video game character. He's so funny and sarcastic, not to mention sassy and can make almost any situation funny or at least somewhat laughable xD

I'd prefer the hilarious, humorous character (and sometimes stupid enough) rather than boring, passive character, like the most protag on VNs.
That's it, if I have to choose, Okabe Rintarou from Steins;Gate and Marina Hojo/Kojiroh from Eve series are the few protags I consider unique on their own way. They have strange personality, which is made them interesting
and Makise Kurisu from S;G is very lovely tsundere~

Hmm.. there are some really awesome characters to choose from. Kurisu Makise from Steins;Gate for one. She has one of the most likable personalities. And her intelligence was believable. All of her theories were perfectly logical; she didn't pull theories out of thin air and make impossible deductions like many other intelligent-type characters usually do.

And the maou from G-Senjou no Maou was a real badass character. Definitely my favourite from the VN.

1. Lilly for Katawa Shojo. Part of the reason I started playing it again (I lost interest half way though Emi's path and didn't touch it again for a year). Beautiful, thoughtful and all round stunning.

Though that fact that her sex scenes are awesome probably helped lol

2. Cyrus for Dysfunctional Systems. He just made me giggle. Some of his facial expressions are down right hilarious.


3. Sophia out of Cinders. She's mean, yet adorable. Not quite sure how that works but oh well.
