This quote.
Anyway I really agree with uncle mugen. You really only hear younger people talking about searching for jobs with happiness and little boredom because once you get out there we get more worried about paying bills and getting by. Pretty much if you have it laid out for you like if you're rich it extremely talented and have job offers everywhere most people can't really afford to be choosy. I'm not saying to give up your dreams but to keep in mind the practical side to things and realize you're taking a risk and you may end up with very little money... Btw when people don't have enough money they become sad and depressed along with stressed and usually aren't too happybecause they're worried about paying for food their mortgage or car. If drawing is what makes you happy though in spite of hardships and you feel like you'll be really regretting not doing it in the future then I would say to try to go for it! You have a lot if time and you could always go back to school or change careers if it gets that bad.
As for me, I'm headed to med school and decided against becoming an artist or designer but for many different reasons

Mugen pointed out a good thing. He is not mistaken. In fact, IMO there is no wrong path in life. After all, no one will give you bad grade for choosing your own path. Do you believe me if I said you don't need to go to college to become earn money or even become a successful man? There are plenty out there... I know some of them personally and the world also know lots of other people of such example (Bill Gates and Steve Jobs are all drop outs).
You can spend the time and money you'll use for college to begin work instead. By work early, you'll accumulate skills and experience while others only study the theory, not a real working experience. And how much money you'll get during those years that you'll supposedly use to study in college? Now, this doesn't mean I say you should not go to college. This is just one way of living.
The point is, choose your own future. No one will responsible for it other than you. Not your parents who probably protest because you didn't choose their major recommendation or probably happy since you do choose their recommendation. Not your girlfriend. Not your relative. Not your friends. And definitely not us here, people in internet who shout what decision you should make.
If you do like Mugen said, choose a major that ensure your future. That's good. You probably have bright future, ensure to have food served on your dining table every day, pay all your bills, and have more than enough time for your expensive hobby (like buying those Cintiqs). And may be from time to time mourning and thought... "I should've take that major instead and chase after my dream..."
If you choose the major that you like, well, that's fine too. You don't know what future might hold. Perhaps you'll succeed, perhaps you won't, perhaps you can keep going though barely and struggling... but at least you do what you love and love what you do. And may be from time to time wishing you take other major instead that provide better future. Not a bad life for some people.
And there are plenty of other way of living. Though we some time also talk about chances and luck... But that's a different story. The most important thing though, is to work hard in everything you do so you won't regret later. At least that's what I believe.

I think one should pursue his childhood dreams, if he doesn't change them over time. No matter how strange they sound.
I wanted to become a teacher once I entered elementary school and now I'm in my 5th term studying germanistic and art to become a teacher.
And it is just like that: Sometimes you just suddenly know what you have to become...and you will become it.
I have a weekly internship now and I just feel how much that is my destiny.
Others - like my sister - always want to become something and suddenly change their meaning and become something else. And still get very happy with it. She always wanted to work with horses, as a animal doctor or by owning a farm, maybe becoming a teacher for riding.
NShe became a coiffeur instead and will start further education to become a make-up artists soon. And she realized this only three years ago, even though her dream with the horses had lasted for about 15 years.
So I would advice you to really listen in yourself.
Small problems are often really just that - small. I talk fast and I have phobias, I still become a teacher. In fact, teaching even is like medicine to me. You change with your work.
So if you want to become a doctor, then just don't stop believing in supernatural things, but believe in the you you will be in the future.
As a advice in another direction:
At least here in germany is it possible to just go and sit in a lecture as a guest and listen to it.
If it is possible where you live, then just go into the university of your choice and visit a beginners lecture in medicine and see, if you think you would be capable of understanding that and do that seriously.
