The closed beta for my game is going well. I've gotten excellent, honest critique and it has received positive feedback overall, not to mention one of my betas giving me excellent typo spottings! Very thorough! Also figured out how to level a mass amount of lines at once rather than one by one after they've been cut. Now I don't have to reload them into the program with tedious re-exports, I can just level them in mass which makes things go much faster and preserves my sanity xD

Got lots of tips waiting tables today! Hoorah for generosity!

For some this would be a downer, but for me it's certainly a joy.
I finally quit my job, which was starting to drive me mad.
[rant]I mean, for a restaurant you would expect us to have everything stocked right? But no, every day it seemed like there was something missing so every time I'd clock in I'd wonder what item I'd have to do without, or what I'd have to go and ask from other stores nearby to borrow. Then there's the current manager who is so lazy that she relegated a lot of her duties to her regular workers and her PICs. Add to that she would talk mean shit behind our back and keep all of us misinformed just to trigger infighting between us. Seriously, she only had the store for about 7 months, but those 7 months were so bad that I just couldn't stay anymore.[/rant]
Ok, enough said. Short of it is that without the stress of my old enviroment, I feel much better. I mean, I actually got a decent night sleep in months to boot!

It's nothing big, but I finally decided I'm gonna get a cat! I've been thinking this through for 4 years now, so I think it's time.
Contacted a breeder already, and reserved myself a cute ragdoll kitten I named Remi. :D

Today's the progress report day with one of client at my workplace. I've been kinda stressed with the tasks to be accomplished for this week progress report and the client is a a nice guy that none of us want to disappoint (plus, this client is big company).

The guy said he likes how things turned out and, even though I still left out one feature that my colleague insisted it's important, the client guy said it's sufficient for the play test session.

All those pressure is gone for a while now. Whew.

I don't mean to sound geeky or weird, but I am extremely happy to have finished Trigonometry at 100% at Khan Academy now! By far, that is one of the more challenging courses for me, especially because it's like an online course, so it's sort of a self-learning type of thing. I prefer a classroom setting though, so...

I can't tell you how many times my percentage (progress) dropped from 97% to 93% just because I got a few skills wrong, especially in solving sinusoidal equations along with sinusoidal word problems. I finally mastered all 35 skills though, so I was very happy and felt very accomplished!

I did it. I finally got a CONQUEST VICTORY IN CIV IV!!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

The first part of this post now resides in "Get that thing off your chest". It's still filled with pain, it's still "I want to develop my visual novel and I can't", it's still "I need help and I have no idea what kind of help I need". There's no need to quote the whole post, almost nothing has changed.
Well then, why I'm posting here, not there, if everything is so bad?
I just got past 2000 (two thousand) words mark for my current visual novel project.
And to quote my teamlead from one of my non-VN teams:

If there's forward motion, however slow, we'll get there.

That moment when you are proud you can design decent graphics for you Extras and Special menus in your visual novel, and script it to work properly. I feel so proud of my little character-selection screen on my latest project. I'm testing a way to make the makeshift CG Gallery function a little better, and it works but has some imperfections I've had to work around, but surely it is progress! Soon I will step up and try to customise the GUI a bit, most likely in the Legacy theme since that coding is easiest to work with for such customisation.

I HAVE RETURNED AND DAMN IS IT GOOD TO BE BACK.

I spent like 75% of the time away thinking about y'all and your amazing projects and ideas and just how friendly this community is and frick I missed Lemmasoft.

(The interface is different tho and like whAT)

TIME WELL SPENT!

Over the weekend my girlfriend (!) and I went on our first official date. (!!) When I got home from that I found out that I had been accepted to my first choice of college. (!!!)

So I'd say a solid 12/10 weekend overall.
