@Kato: Yeah? I'll have to go there sometime! I always dreamed of visiting Australia, extra reason to go.... Except.... I don't know if I'll be able to see Orion then. :< He's my favorite.

@ebi: That sounds like such awesome gifts! I wish I was that kind of creative. It's really cool of you to have done that.

I've never looked for the complete Orion constellation before but, I'm assuming, since we can see his belt and what not, the rest of him will be visible :p When I go bush next I'll take a photo of what it looks like out here :D

Orion is also my favorite, but I've lived in big cities for years, and it's not easy to see it (him?). Lucky you! :)

Orion buddies~
I've lived in smallerish towns and medium sized (aka small cities, or something) and generally in a dark enough area to see his whole shape at least dimly. But I got to see his dog(star) and bow too, the other night <3
I usually see him a bit dimmer than this, but enough that I see him:

It always fills me with a little happiness whenever the night is clear and I spot him.

Thanks ^^
I'm not really creative though, but I was under pressure and needed to find a gift fast haha.

I have the next 16 days off from school, so now I can finally sit down and.....

A few days ago, I was bored, so I set up a video call that connected four generations of my family, at the time spread out between two non-adjacent states.

I did this with a wireless computer that fits in my pocket and runs on batteries.

Last night, it hit me - I'm living in the future of my childhood.

I finally finish the request by the japanese company and they loved it so much they'd like to work with me on a long-term project in the future!

So they ask me about my 'studio', how many artists are we, were are we located, how much art can we produce a week/month, what kind of requests do we usually get or like getting... and I'm sitting here, baffled, looking at the email... and I can only giggle and think "It's just me, working from my little apartment, and I'm already drowning in workload :'D "

LOL.
STill, I'm extremely flattered by all this and it's been a great experience! :D

I was just thinking the same thing! I found an old ad from the 90's for "spy communicators" that allow you to send text messages to your friend ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE ROOM. And now you can do it all the way across the world, and it's no longer a novelty.

 That has to be one of the best compliments you've ever received, I bet!

Yay! Puppy!!

And now for my news.
nick_movie.JPG
Last year, my son was hired as a musician for a film. The trailer for the film came out and he is in it!!!!!! Wooooo!!!! He's the one playing the fife/flute.

If you want to see the whole trailer, you can see it here: http://copperheadthemovie.com/ My son is at about 1:49.

Parts of the movie were filmed at a local open-air museum. It is really weird to see familiar buildings in a movie.

@SusanTheCat - I watched the trailer! That's awesome!! :D I wanna see that movie now xD

I wanted to post in this thread because it's falling too low on the front page!! :< (People need to share their happiness more!) I kinda thought about this for a while too because I couldn't think of anything "happy" that happened to me for a while but I figured it would be good to force myself to search for something good that happened recently.

I just remembered that I was selected as a candidate for a small partial scholarship/tuition wavier by the art department at my uni! *u*; (what a thing to almost forget about right? orz) It's contingent on me being able to keep up my GPA and enrolling for a certain amount of credit hours next semester. I'm a bit nervous since I feel like I've screwed myself over a little with certain classes this term but I just gotta pick myself up and keep on trucking ;o;
