What is your favourite dere type?

I don't think a good tsundere chara has to be violent (I'm a non-violent). I also think that IRL tsundere are a bit annoying, but hey!, there aren't always happy with their personnalities either (è__é)

I agree with that too. I think on both sides of the chart would be:

yandere: clingy/jealous<------(everything in-between)------>murderous
tsundere: pouty/angry<------(everything in between)------> crazy abusive

So I guess in the end it depends on the writing and what impact that character has on other characters

Oh, I know Bungaku Shoujo, though I've never read the light novels since the English translations are freaking expensive and the originals a bit too hard for me. As for said character, I thought she was okay, but definitely didn't like her.
I'm even more convinced now that there are "factions" of yandere lovers, to say. Possibly because I like fantasy action stories, I prefer the likes of Yuno and Flandre. They're not realistic, but maybe that's why I can bring myself to like them. If they're too much like one of those "harmless" real life psychopaths, who we all know a bunch of, it hits too close to home and it turns me off instead.

Heh, if it helps, I haven't seen anyone like her. This book review I've read says that she's more understandable in the novels, but not really likeable.
I always recommend her as a realistic yandere character, though. She's about as unromanticised as a yandere girl can be while still being in an anime movie.

I really like Tsundere, Mayadere (so weird... I love it), and Kuudere. But I totally love DereDere!!! It's my favourite.
(And I'll take the test too when I have enough time... ^.^ I think I'm totally Kuudere anyway...)

Seriously, all these new -dere types have been popping up, and I don't think anyone can keep track of them all.

Mayadere sounds exceptionally interesting, though. I get the impression that some characters who are mistyped as yandere are actually mayadere, even though mayadere is listed under "tsundere" on VNDB. (Then again, kuudere is also listed under tsundere. Hmm.)

I personally prefer Tsundere guys (unless it's way too abusive with actual hitting that's more than a flick on the forehead)
And Deredere guys (and Girls) when I hear "Deredere", I think about the typical "Genki girl/boy".

I don't mind Yandere's so much as I'm not too scared of them. It mostly depends on how far they are into being a "yandere", I guess.

Actually, I generally like most dere types, unless they overdo it. Which would usually make them pretty annoying.

My favourite? Maybe yandere or mayadere, those seem hard to pull off, but when done right, I'm sure they'll be mighty interesting~

I guess a Tsundere or a Deredere ^^;? I read the page but I still don't grasp the concept of most of the dere types. Besides Tsundere and Deredere the only other dere I understand is Yandere and that is definitely not my favorite XD. So Tsundere or Deredere it is.
