Anyone use Surface Pro for VN creation?
I wonder if anyone use Surface Pro for VN creation and if they recommend it?
With Surface Pro 2 available for sale on 22nd Oct, I am thinking to upgrade my working laptop. I have an Intuos Pro small graphic tablet that I love, but the idea of drawing directly on screen is very enticing for me.
The question is how that small screen gonna work with with other software, like Ren'Py, and other daily use?

Why Surface Pro? With $800+ price tag, may you'll want to hold on and wait for Wacom Companion.

Well, I do not know about Wacom companion, I tried Surface Pro in the store and kind of like it, but I wanted to know how is working with legacy applications.

You can try google it (just type Wacom Companion spec), but Wacom Companion is just like a notebook with pen digitizer as the screen. So you can say it's mobile, stand-alone, fully working Cintiq.
The specification is top notch and not too mention it have Cintiq quality tablet built-in it. So if you buy it, you can ditch your intuos and switch to this one. If you want to buy Surface Pro for the mobility, then Wacom Companion is just for you.
There are two kinds of Companion; the more expensive Windows 8 version, and the cheaper Android version. The specs are about the same for both version. I think we'll want to Windows 8 version one (albeit more expensive) so we can install Photoshop and RenPy...

Re: Anyone use Surface Pro for VN creation?
Well thank you for recommending me Wacom Companion, but you were mentioning the price as a reason not to look at Surface pro.

Now, I believe that for $2500 as the win8 Wacom Companion costs, I can buy two Surface Pros plus a Surface RT, so maybe I missed something here?
The Wacom Companion Android version is $1500...
Surface Pro 2 starts at $899, first gen on sale for $799.

I have to say, that price difference is massive. Getting a Surface Pro 2 or a Lenovo x230 is cheaper by over $1000, and both have a Wacom tablet built in. If you don't have to have it portable, you can get a similar USB tablet for less than half that price, on Amazon the Yiynova 10" is only $370.

Thank you for the info, I think you are talking about this one.

Looks like an viable alternative to surface pro and wacom companion if you don't need a stand alone device.

Yes, that one has a higher resolution than the one I mentioned. But the Yiynovas are a cheap alternative to the Wacom ones that still work okay. It does need a program with pen smoothing since it's less precise than the Wacom.
