Just wondering: Is anyone here planning on attending Otakon 2007?

I typically avoid cons. Everytime time I look at a guest list, I'm like, "Who is that? Should I know these people?"

But if other visual novelists were going to be there I might consider coming. I live only an hour away, so it's not a problem.

If a group were to meet, then I would suggest meeting someplace outside of the con.

A quick glance at the schedule and I cannot find any VN-related panels.

I'm going, actually. Staying in the hotel across the street... >.>
Will you stay here for a while, dear, 'til the radio plays something familiar?

dafool>>> with many glances, I have been unable to find any VN related panels. A real shame, because last year there were a lot of them.

mihel>>> Some people are trying to put together an informal VN-related meetup here.

crap, I wish I'd thought to check here first - I woulda loved a VN meetup! I totally fangirled the poor people from Hirameki *so bad* but I got Ever17 and Hourglass of Summer, so I can't complain. Hoping for a good translation... Anyone know what the deal was with the Pocket Guide - they mentioned a VN panel in there that wasn't anywhere in the schedule (along with many other "invisible" panels.)

Speaking of VN panels, I'm looking to do one at a con coming up in my area. Any advice? Am I allowed to show clips of existing VNs or demo software like Ren'Py? (Tom I reckon I'd need your permission for the latter *puppy dog eyes*)

I don't think you need permission to demo software.
