Stupid Things To Get Scared Over

#1 Post by kara24601 » Tue Jul 17, 2007 11:51 pm

On the first of July or maybe a little bit before that...I suddenly was really scared and I had the feeling somebody was messing with me and standing outside my window. I knew it was going to be July eventually but wasn't expecting fireworks so soon...never even gave it a thought. I called my father and chatted with them and we discussed the Fourth of July. (Why don't people call it Independence Day anymore? Heh...or do they still...my family doesn't....)

Dad said it was probably just people celebrating early.
I knew people like to celebrate early but really that is too early and it was so scary at the time!

Another time, a long time ago, I was playing FF3 and accidentally turned up the volume too high at the wrong time....right at that moment Kefka's laugh blared out of the speakers... I jumped then laughed and turned the volume back down. Well , that was more funny than scary...but still....

What about you all? Heh.

I used to get scared by eskimos. You never see their faces, and "raw meat eaters" sounded more lika cannabils. But I was like, 5.

And I used to get real scared by walking up and down the stairs.

Clowns O_O When I was a child I was terrified of clowns.I'd never seen "It" at the time, they just scared the hell outta me.Once my mother was given a small clown and she hanged it in the dining room's wall(it was made for that purpose) and I was always so scared to walk even at 1 meter from it, and another time a clown approached me in a amusement park and I threw a can of Fanta at him because he came too near...poor guy...IF YOU BROWSE THESE FORUMS I'M SORRY, YOU JUST WERE SO SCARY WITH THAT ORANGE WIG AND THAT RED SMILE ON YOUR FACE!!! ;_;*runs away crying*

I'll usually get disturbed by large trashing sounds... like uh... something big falling from a truck maybe?... With the reverberation and all, it sounds like an explosion to me and I get all "Wtf was that? ;o;...".
I also get scared I'll make planes explode just by looking at them XD... *has something about planes...*

I usually get scared about sudden loud and mysterious "crashing" noises too, so that's why I was so scared that one night with the idiot neighbors outside shooting off fireworks.
Back when we had a really bad storm/blackout for days , there was this loud crashing sound one night that scared me and later dad told me it was probably just snow/ice settling off the roof.

Clowns ....I'm more just anti-clown without being scared of them.....although they can be scary. Heh.

I'm not sure if this is stupid or just some type of claustrophobia. (or both? )

I'm scared of seeing an overwhelming shade of one color. It's kinda like going blind and drowning at the same time. For example, when I stare straight at the sky and I find a particular spot where there are no clouds and everything is the same blue color, I suddenly get all sweaty and it feels like the color is invading my eyes and actually forcing its way into every part of my body until I even find it hard to breathe.

I also get the same feeling when everything suddenly turns dark from a blackout. I really can't breathe for a few brief moments (maybe 40 seconds or so) before the rational part of my brain reminds me that it's just the lights going out and I'm not drowning.
How do you make your games? I see. Thank you for the prompt replies, but it is my considered opinion that you're doing it wrong inefficiently because I am a perfushenal professional. Do it my way this way and we can all ascend VN Nirvana together while allowing me to stroke my ego you will improve much faster. Also, please don't forget to thank me for this constructive critique or I will cry and bore you to death respond appropriately with a tl;dr rant discourse of epic adequately lengthy proportions. - Sarcasm Veiled in Euphemism: Secrets of Forum Civility by lordcloudx (Coming soon to an online ebook near you.)

I kinda feel that way a little about the color White.
White backgrounds at sites usually hurts my eyes.
Too bright.
I hate White and prefer Black backgrounds.
Love Blue. Nothing but Blue is fine with me.
But White can give me a headache.
I love the gradual / sudden change of day to night.

It's scary that it makes you feel like you're drowning.

Being upstairs alone at night. Sounds ridiculous, but we have a lake behind the house, and the view from upstairs is great during the day... But at night, it's pitch black up there, and it always feels like there's something out there, looking in after me. The basement is perfectally fine, though.

I'm scared of tin washtubs.

No, I'm not kidding. I hate the look, sound, feel, touch, everything about tin washtubs. Anything made out of tin kinda creeps me out (except tin foil).

This does say "stupid things" right? XD

And as it goes, most 'tinfoil' is made of plastic-laminated aluminium these days, 'cause tin's comparatively pretty expensive. ;-)

(I'm sure I heard somewhere that it reacts with something commonly found in food and produces something poisonous as well, but realistically the cost is more than likely the driving factor.)

I once had this dream... it was not a dream in the ussual sense, cause it felt extremely real, and i really had the feeling that it happened or will happen, and i was right in the middle and could freely interact.

Anyway in my dream i was in the old house of my grandparents in which i grew up. I was lieying in bed, and suddenly woke up. I thought i heared the church bells, so i slowly got up walked towards the window an looked outside. And then from beyond the hills i suddenly saw an extremely, extremely bright light. Immeadetaly i closed my eyes but the light was still getting brighter, so i turned my back and pressed my head to the ground. I pressed my hands on my face, but the white light went right trough them. Than it got hot and the window collapsed. And then it was suddenly gone again.

The rest of the dream was about how i spend the next few weeks in the shelter of the basement with the rest of my friends and how we tried to survive the radiation, find food, adept to the situation and help the others.

I can't quite remember anymore, but before i finally died, i reallized
that it was my fault. I did something that resulted in the A-Bomb being thrown, or to put it differently, i realized that this happened to me, because of my bad deeds and my "karma".

Than i woke up.

I wanna make clear that when i had this dream i did not watch any movie about Hiroshima or anything, nor did i know much about A-bombs at that time. My dream was extremely detailed, way more than i could describe it here, and it contained a lot of detailed knowledge about a-bombs and survival, which actually went beyond what i knew at that time.

Durring the dream i wasn't scared, but afterwards it made me think about some of the wrong things i did in my life. So in one word, what i am affraid of is mankind, as well as myself... of what we are capable of.

I will never make a Visual Novel, but if i where to make one, it would be about this dream.

Stupid things? I suspect this counts...When I've driving in a freeway and cars on either side are there, so I can't pass...I don't know why but I feel pinched and scared one of them isn't gonna see me and try to pull into my lane....

This is a situation they teach you to avoid in anti-terrorism training.

My fear is probably the weirdest and stupidest...lol.
I'm terrified of water heaters. Yes it's true, each time I enter a toilet and if there's a water heater there, even a small one I would step back and/or scream. The bigger the water heater the more terrified I'll be. I've always wondered why I'm so scared of the thing...probably something happened to me with it when I was a kid. Agh the glowing red eye and the strange grumbling noises it makes!!!

Hemm, stupid things?

I'm kinda afraid of mice (not hamsters!). Of course, they might be cute in dolls, but I hate *real* mice so much. A mouse took a tofu from my house a few days ago!
