Malicious virus?

#1 Post by macaron » Wed Nov 06, 2013 9:22 am

I'm not sure if this happens to any of you and just to be sure I wanted to ask, did this ever occur to any of you when you've downloaded some game and when it's done it says "malicious file" keep or discard. Not every game has this problem but here are a few games that stated malicious file ex: (P)lanets, Memo.

What anti-virus are you using? There may be some false positives - Norton is infamous for that problem, for example.

What browser are you using? I've seen Google Chrome give this warning when downloading a zipped file which contains an exe file.

A good work around that will keep your computer safe is to set up a special folder on your hard drive for downloading games. Download the games to that folder, and tell Chrome to keep the file. Then use your antivirus program to check the game before unzipping.
All of my VNs are at http://wolflore.net NOTE: Downloads are now working.

Poorly done hand-drawn art is still poorly done art. Be a Poser (or better yet, use DAZ Studio 3D) - dare to be different.
