Looking for art?
Not sure if this should be here, the art threads or the recruitment threads?
Anyway, does anyone have any sites other than here or dA to look for hiring artists and a somewhat affordable price or good art? (not cheap/under priced though, cause I don't like it went I pay artists way less than they deserve and I don't.... particularly want -bad- art)
I was wanting someone with this type of art: http://wallpho.com/2400-anime-war-guns- ... -girls.htm
But not sure where to find an artist with that sort of style....
(this is for sprite art btw)

Re: Looking for art?
Aside from those sites you can try a site like Elance or ODesk to recruit an artist. The best way is to have all the details prepared beforehand so you can give an accurate description of the entire job before you post it. Then the artist gives their own estimate of how much it will cost. Artists tend to be flexible so there may be someone who can mimic that style even if they don't have an example of it.

You may also have some luck on Conceptart.org while keeping SundownKid's advice in mind. I've had an easier time finding what I'm looking for on dA, though.

Re: Looking for art?
What is the process of finding an artist on Deviant Art? I've been to the site...but it is all a bit overwhelming.
A Close Shave:
*Last Thing Done (Aug 17): Finished coding emotions and camera for 4/10 main labels.
*Currently Doing: Coding of emotions and camera for the labels--On 5/10
*First Next thing to do: Code in all CG and special animation stuff
*Next Next thing to do: Set up film animation
*Other Thing to Do: Do SFX and Score (maybe think about eye blinks?) Check out My Clock Cookbook Recipe: http://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewto ... 51&t=21978

Re: Looking for art?
You look for someone who fits what you're looking for, check their profile to see if they're doing commissions, and then you send them a note.trooper6 wrote:What is the process of finding an artist on Deviant Art? I've been to the site...but it is all a bit overwhelming.
As for OP, why not make a short Recruitment post?

Re: Looking for art?
There are people who could do that on CGHub.com
You may criticize my works if you wish. That's one of the two reasons I put them on the internet.

Re: Looking for art?
The easiest way is probably to post in the "Job Offers" forum with the job you are proposing and wait for people to get back to you.trooper6 wrote:What is the process of finding an artist on Deviant Art? I've been to the site...but it is all a bit overwhelming.
You could also just browse the site looking for artists but it's more time consuming and difficult. Someone who's doing commissions might not be able to do the art for an entire game, etc.

Re: Looking for art?
For dA, I tried the Job Offers forum but didn't really get too many replies that fit my criteria or budget.
I had to trawl through the Job Services forum to find an artist with a style that I liked, and open commissions.
Good luck in your search!
