Whatever's playing in my iTunes? LOL. I'm so into Utaite fandom for years now (anyone?) and I simply can't let go.

But lately I started by playing Shoose's or Rairu's pianissimo (which is so touching and I could just cry if I ever experienced breaking up) or any random song that I felt I want to listen to. But yeah, if I get really focused in writing, I might ignore the songs completely LOL.

I usually listen Effectively Wild, a baseball podcast, in the background while I write. I'll use actual baseball games as well for background noise as well.

As for music, I use a random shuffle of Gundam songs I've collected over time. One of my most recent favorites being an English version of 0083's first OP.

I switch off between podcasts and music depending on my mood.

I've collected over 40 GB of video game and anime soundtracks over the years, not to mention all the ones I can find online... whenever I'm ready to work for a while I put a playlist on, maybe add in some ambiance if I'm having trouble focusing, and I'm set.

I wrote an 80,000 word novel almost exclusively to the tune of the Durarara!! OST, various Chata songs, and Taisetsu na Mono by Road of Major.
Things I've Written:
Sakura (Novel, Self Published, 80,000+ words)
City and Girl (Novel, First Draft, 70,000+ words)
Loka (Novel, Third Draft, 120,000+ words)

I don't listen to them while working, but yes, they are. Botanic Sage is love, Botanic Sage is life.

I mainly listen to Vocaloid, but I have over 16GB of Vocaloid songs, I couldn't name all the tracks I listened today if I tried haha.

Although I've been listening to regular Pop music more than Vocaloid lately.
Some songs:
I Am Hot - Int ver. - NS Yoon-G
Reason to Become a Witch - Int ver. - NS Yoon
Telepathy - Girl's Day
Oh! My God - Girl's Day
Hey! - e.via
Oppa! Can I do it? - e.via
Who's Next? - 4Minute
Call me up! e.via
Girls - Se7en
Change - Hyuna
Tasty Mountain - San E

As my avatar suggests, I put on reruns of Adult Swim shows in the background, absurd shows like Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Squidbillies, Robot Chicken, etc. I find that the surreal humor is just as insanely funny when you're only listening to it, like a radio show and it keeps things light and creative, because alot of my dialogue has silly little bits of humor mixed into it.

While specifically writing dialogue I listen to a ton stand up comedy also, for the exact same reason. Kyle Kinane gets heavy rotation right now. While debugging I try to keep my music to instrumental music so I won't be distracted. Spotify is good for finding new stuff, but lately I've been on youtube listening to alot of alternative / post metal. Stuff that's dynamic that shifts moods over the course of the song. Like Deathmole:

I have this monster playlist on spotify that I'm constantly adding songs to. I find that I can't listen to music with lyrics when I'm writing - I prefer classical pieces, or instrumental video game OSTs. However when I draw, I like to listen to anything that fits the mood of my drawing! If I'm figure sketching or working on anatomy, I keep it calm with ambient tunes, or some indie, but whenever I'm preparing for a complicated drawing, I turn up some really loud songs to keep me hyped! I need some pep when I do line art and flat colors ;_;

^^^ Is a compilation of the OST from the game Child of Light. I've wanted to buy it for ages (but no money, sadly ;;) so I've listened to the music instead. I find it great when I need some peace and quiet for writing or loose sketching.

Mostly video game OSTs. Currently listening to lots of the new Smash Bros music, there's lots of inspirational songs there.

Here's a few:
