I kinda find myself ignorant here, since I've never been part of a large programming group before.
So here's the scenario: 3 countries in 3 continents, and they're finding SVN to be too slow. So they're thinking of using GIT. I think Ren'Py uses github, so I'm looking into that. But Bitbucket looks cheaper from an initial glance... we want private repositories.
Any recommendations from those in the know?
Thanks!

Re: GIT and SVN
Your requirement is a little bit too specific... is this by any chance related to your job where you now have a bunch of in-house programmers?...

Git, like Bazaar and Monotone, is a distributed version control system (DVCS). You don't need a central repository. You can all work on your own computers and make their repositories available to each other.
For distributed bug tracking, there is Bugs Everywhere. I don't know how it is to work with it.

Re: GIT and SVN
I use Bitbucket, both for work and personal purposes.
I can use the command line but I tell my teammates to use GitHub for Windows since the interface is easier to understand.
