It's a proposition taken to be true that is used as a building block to construct proofs.

It's also the name of Lemmasoft's mascot, as seen in Hanafuda Club and probably other titles (and present in the title of Tales of Lemma)

Basically, Lemmasoft is/was dedicated to making bishoujo-style games and this was originally the forum for discussing Lemmasoft games as well as other similar types of games and related fandoms. Over time, discussion of people making their own VN-style games and of the Ren'Py system became the primary purpose of the forum and the other stuff receded into the background, although you can still see evidence of it in the archived boards section.
