I'm new here. And I don't think I have seen this thread yet at Lemma Soft.
I want to ask why most people here makes visual novels.
As for me, I want to try to make people happy and enjoy the game.
I'm currently working on a project. And this thing have just got into my head since last week or so.
I got interested in it. So I thought of making one. What about you guys?
Sorry if I made any mistakes.

It's my favourite storytelling medium. I want to contribute to the medium and make it stronger.4

I find that Visual Novels are a cool way to tell a story despite many people not knowing about it. I also like writing and sharing stories but I find novels quite dull, so visual novels are like an alternative

I think it's the interactivity. There's something different about having choices and controlling the world in the VN. You're in the first person POV instead of a 3rd person spectator in comics and novels.

Visual Novels are my reason for living. If I didn't have them, I would promptly die under mysterious circumstances. The coroner would be stupified. Everyone would be sad.
They would play "Caramelldansen" at my funeral.

Reading why people make vn is cool.
As for me well, it started last year right after I graduated from high school. Due to some personal reasons I became depressed and spent the first have of summer doing nothing. Yeah, I played a Vn like I always did and love them, but it wasn't as fulling as I wanted them to be. One day however, I came across Ren'py, I became interested when I learned that I could actually code, however, I knew nothing about it. So I studied it for a whole day and got basic coding. Eventually I created my first game and had so much fun with it. I was no longer depressed and had something that I really liked doing. Since then, I've been making a lot of games even though it can get stressful at times. I make them because I want to share my creativity with people and make them happy. I can tell you this, if it wasn't for Ren'py, I doubt I would've gotten out of my depresses. I'm truly grateful for it and Lemma Soft

Well, the first VN I was introduced to was Umineko no Naku Koro ni, which led me to a small community of people who also enjoyed it. Then, I was dragged into a certain project by some people from said community, which then got me interested in using the medium to tell stories myself. Before then, I used to tell stories through comics, but for this, I could do quite a lot of things by myself (drawing, writing, coding).
So, I suppose the reason I enjoy making VNs is because it's the most interesting medium in both storytelling and creation.

I think it's because since the vast majority of VNs have anime-style artwork, I like to create my own anime-style VNs as well, being a fan of anime art. That and I want to give my characters a story, their home.

I could combine doing art with writing in the one project (normally I'm switching between the two).

Well I'm currently only planning to start them this summer XD As for why...I always loved writing and drawing; they are both my passions which is why I was delighted many years ago when I found when there were games which combined both art and literature. I wanted to contribute as well as I know they help people cheer them up or simply keep them entertained. I've always loved a good story so why not try and create one yourself?
My other reason for doing the projects I'm planning to do would be for practice. There is a story which I really want to create into a VN but it is really complicated and requires a lot of custom art since it's fantasy. Being an amateur at Ren'Py doesn't help XD I want to tell this story to the world but I need practice which is my other reason for wanting to create many visual novels

I don't play many VNs and I've noticed there seems to be a lack of BxB ones with a physically varied cast and/or have really non-con/dub-con-y routes.
I'd like to see if I can make something interesting that fulfills both those criteria I guess.

I write VNs because there are stories that deserve to be told, and VNs are a really good medium for storytelling.

My interest began with comics/webcomics. However, repetitive panel after panel illustrations felt tedious--like I wasn't getting much mileage for all the work I was doing. So I started looking for other mediums where I could combine art and story seamlessly. I've experimented with/studied animation, picture books, adventure games, and finally came across the Ren'Py engine, which combined all the things I was interested in (pictures and words, animation, even sound). I love this medium, and the way it brings together multiple disciplines.
