I have this dream of making a (non-commercial of course) audio-book of Journey to the West in English.
I actually already started recording it and there was even someone who already did the first chapter, but that still means there are 99 chapters for me to read and I can't do it all on my own I already posted the idea on LibriVox, but it didn't fit their requirements, so I am posting it here, since there should be many up and coming future voice actors here who would be good at this sort of thing as well as people interested in Asian culture and besides the people here propably even know what Journey to the West is, since it is referenced in countless Animes So I am looking for people who would be willing to read and record one or more chapters...
Or maybe you guys also know some other site where I could find people interested in helping with a project like this?

This is a fascinating idea! Have you tried looking on Voice Acting Alliance to see if anyone might be interested in helping you out?
Also, can we know what sparked your idea for an audiobook?

Re: Making an audio-recording of Journey to the West?
Hi Goblin Maiden,
I haven't checked back in a while, so I only saw your reply now.
What got me started on the idea? Well, I saw it referenced in many anime and many of my Chinese friends where talking about it, cause they all grew up with it. So I wanted to read it. But of course being the lazy guy I am I first looked for an audio book and I realized that there are no English audio books of the unabridged version - even though there are several unabridged English translations. Someone started to read the first chapter, but after the first chapter he apparently stopped. I put it on my Youtube Channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HzJDsn4jqNA
So I wanted to finish what he started and read the rest of the chapters, but I soon realized that I too where to probably give up halfway through if I where to do it all by myself. So I am just looking for people who are willing to contribute to this effort and read a chapter or two.

It's an VERY cool idea, but... isn't it a little too ambitious? I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if it takes a lot of years to end it.
Artist and voice actor, trying to actually write stuff.
