Anime-related photographic evidence...

#1 Post by mikey » Sat May 31, 2008 12:27 pm

I didn't know where to put this, that's why the new thread... anyway, today, on a random trip to a random castle, I see this.
This proves that (if it wasn't obvious before) European lolis drive Japanese cars.

Haha Mikey, that just made my day :)
That guy sure had an interesting one, even if I'm pretty sure that was random. Imagine the day you receive that ID for your car :D
By the way, I heard you could do something like that in the States legally. Some sort of personal plate, that you just had to register. I wonder if it would be legal to have something like that :D

I think it's in many countries. We can have up to 10 chars, I think, but one of them has to be a number.. And it's about 2000$, so a waste of money unless you realllly like to show off.. :P

The plate isn't random, really - the Austrian system is City*4digitnumber+letter. So let's say "S*1234A" would be a plate. Customized plates have to have a city and the rest you have five places for letters or numbers yourself - at least that's my observation. And it costs money, of course.

I am more in favor of the explanation that it was really just someone named "Lothar Lindenberg" ^_^

Swwweeeettt.... ^_^

Yeah, it's fully possible to have personalized liscense plates in the US. :3 I think generally they have 7 characters and cost under $150, but I could be wrong... All I know is that they're made in various prisons around the country. ^_^ What, you've gotta give them something to do, right? XD

When I think of anime and cars, that itasha (痛車) fad that's been going on for a while now in Japan comes to mind.

Hmmm... :3

Maybe it would disappear one day and Mikey would take a photo of it as he finds it :D

I find it rather entertaining that "cars with anime girls all over them" are called "itasha", meaning "painful cars"
I released 3 VNs, many moons ago: Elven Relations (IntRenAiMo 2007), When I Rule The World (NaNoRenO 2005), and Cloud Fairy (the Cute Light & Fluffy Project, 2009).
More recently I designed the board game Steam Works (published in 2015), available from a local gaming store near you!

Well, they are painfully embarrassing, so the name seems appropriate ^_^.

Painfully embarrasing? It's painful to look at!

But I still love it! It a strange twist between pain and pleasure that I feel when I see one of those.

Woah~! A life-sized doll! :O

Speaking of license plates, I passed by a car one day in a parking lot - a black BMW convertible (don't remember the specific model) with Otaku on the plate. O_O I was almost tempted to leave the person a note saying that otaku's principally shouldn't have nice cars. ; )
