Jo'ogn wrote:Yes, but this wouldn't be the core issue if we talk about 'Artificial Sex/Love Slaves'. I would expect a clone to pretty much act like a real human. 'Free will', 'own choices' and individual preferances. They will be hard to switch off or to program (into submission) at all. The only thing - as far as I understand cloning - one can pre-set is the likely appearance.
Well, sex slave is just my extreme examples ^_^
Even if it's just for creating ultimate or even just a better robot, cloning still is a controversy. Perhaps like this, would you want to let yourself to be cloned for a robot experiments? In this experiments, your clones will be harvested of their body parts (meaning they will be killed "brutally") or even if not, it's guaranteed that many of your clones will die during the experiments?
Your clones is basically you, right? I, at least, don't want my clones to suffer such fate. Who knows if you're then get kidnapped and then switched for your clones in secret... heheheh (sinister laugh)
Jo'ogn wrote:If you happen to find one by the trash in an alley make sure to pick up the OS disc ;)
Yeah, for sure I'm not going to forget the OS disc, baka baka Hideki -_- (although I believe I'm not that penniless)...
But either way, I prefer "normal" persocon rather than Chi. Simply because of the "inconveniently"-placed reset button (though you could always use the ... COUGH... back door... COUGH... Oh, what am I talking about?). Not that I will refuse if I found one though ^_^

LVUER wrote:For me, YEAH ^_^ I'm going to buy one no matter how expensive it(she) may be.
There is another consideration to this, though. How much would such an advanced robot (and I mean properly advanced, so that it can really fulfill that waifu role) cost? I can't imagine it being cheap, affordable or even expensive. I can only imagine it as being astronomically expensive (if you want to get your hands on one in the next 50 years), if you take into account all the functionalities and micro parts and all.

In that case though, won't a waifu robot be a luxury that only the really rich people can afford?

And if you are rich enough to afford such a technological marvel, then a.) surely you are rich enough to lead a playboy life (so you have no real problems getting women) and b.) you won't be the hikkomori otaku anyway.

For me, it's really a nice exercise to think of the immediate situation (like there is a robot who loves you, but doesn't have the quirks of a real woman), but if I start to think about it in more context and how the day-to-day life would be on a really practical level (not just selected scenes from an anime, but the whole day, and month, and years...), I'm not sold at all.

Perhaps this is one of those things that work good on paper and when people think (daydream) about it in their heads instinctively thinking only about the positives, or see a romanticized version of it as anime. But as a real option, as much as I try, I'd say no.

Windows Vista Waifu Starter

Windows Vista Waifu Starter is the most affordable way to enjoy the basic Windows Vista Waifu experience. Windows Vista Waifu Starter is exclusively* available in emerging markets, and is designed for a beginning persocom user with additional tools and tutorials to make it easier to use. Read more.

*Note: Windows Vista Waifu Starter is not currently scheduled to be available in the United States, Canada, the European Union, Australia, New Zealand, or other high income markets as defined by the World Bank.

Although many will complain that Windows Waifu Starter is limited to three concurrent applications sexual acts, beginning robo-waifu users in emerging markets will find little cause to complain.

Then again, there's always Linux (although this could probably involve sticking your finger into her hardware more often than is necessary).

There's also probably going to be low-cost processors for waifus targeted at the third world -- most likely, total English proficiency will be the first feature to go.

The problem with this is that Windows is entirely software, and MS doesn't take an actual bottom-line hit when they give it away for free or next-to-nothing... they just don't make as much profit as they might otherwise have done. MS sells cheap versions to "developing markets" to hook people into the Windows platform so that if and when those countries become rich, they have a ready-made market waiting to buy their more-expensive products. The money from 'starter' sales only has to cover their marketing efforts and keeping the website up.

With a physical device, however, each unit has an intrinsic base value which can't be written off so easily, so they'd still have to charge a larger amount to cover the costs of the servos and the power cells and so on. Things like language comprehension are going to be significantly software, so they're probably actually easier to sell cheaply than the body itself.

Why calling them "wife"? Does this imply a marriage to such a robot? What about insurrance if she causes any harm/damage? Will she inherit my possessions?
LVUER wrote:sex slave is just my extreme examples ^_^
Oh, are there any others? =D
LVUER wrote:Who knows if you're then get kidnapped and then switched for your clones in secret.
This might be a problem, but otherwise a clone isn't me. Wasn't there this kind of film 'cloned' from the "Logan's Run" film back in the 70s? In the new version the ppl underground turn out to be clones for organ replacement if necessary. And one of those clones killed his 'original' taking his place or sth? o_0;

But then they don't need to clone full bodies. Didn't they say they could grow isolated body parts already?
LVUER wrote:I prefer "normal" persocon rather than Chi. Simply because of the "inconveniently"-placed reset button
Chii is this sort of fan-boy made, romanticised ideal of a devote girl. If my robot would go "chiiiii" everytime I ask for a glass of water I'd ask for a refound =D

And yes, I can see how inconvenient this place for a reset button is ~~q:

Code: Select all

Robot: Don't go harder please, don't!!!
User: Why not, don't you like it?
Robot: I do like it, but if you go harrrrr--- ...

*a few seconds later*

Robot: Hajimemashite, Master. Please tell me your name.
User: Never mind. Just keep going I'll press this button in a few seconds again anyway.
mikey wrote:I can't imagine it being cheap, affordable or even expensive. I can only imagine it as being astronomically expensive
Don't be pessimistic. There should be a way to get them for free from the government, or the health insurance as long as you can trick them into believing that you are incapable to co-exist with a human female and need a female persocon to give you the chance to re-socialise with society ;D
mikey wrote:but if I start to think about it in more context and how the day-to-day life would be on a really practical level
Yeah, they should be capable to 'service' themselves. Cleaning, recharging, maintenance those things...

Argh! If M$ would enter the Gynoid market...*shivers* But if they do it in the Xbox way, we could replace the BIOS and use alternative open source persocon software =D

BTW: Did anybody play "N.U.D.E."? This AI thingy from the Japanese M$ branch? I tried some. And even with my limited Japanese I sort of managed to teach her through Phase1. However I read that she behaves a bit like a tamagotchi. We never tried to "play" that again, so I wouldn't know though.

At first, yeah perhaps robot technology will only available for rich only... but technology will get cheaper and more available for common people (like always). If persocon arrived in 2010, then perhaps at 2020, the technology will be cheap enough for normal people. You just need to be patient ^_^ (relax, robot doesn't care about your age anyway)

Vista is OS, so it doesn't really fit.

Nukieu 2050 W (Waifu). Available in 3 colors and fast-change multi-layered case. Currently, there are three version avaiable: Nukieu 2050 W "Bouncy", Nukieu 2050 W "Flat", and Nukieu 2050 W "Pedo".

Nukieu 2050 W Slim version will be released in April 2190. Also expect to see the launch of Nukieu 2050 W Lite this summer for those who travels a lot and respect mobility higher than anything.

Sona-Brickson doesn't want to lose and soon released Sona-Brickson PW(Waifu)-9999 with multi-action shake motion sensors and ability to synchronized with other PW-9999 via WiBro3.2 allowing group activity and interchanges personal and group settings easily.

Several year later, all major brand has released their own waifu products. They become richer, we become happier ^_^

Sounds we are laying out here material for a potential Persocon VN (as opposed to the light and fluffy stuf project)

What will be the difference between "Flat" and "Pedo"?

o_0; WTH? Is this the inflatable model that has the whole AI voice synthesizing on an USB dongle for your laptop?!

X-D another WTH?! Extreme LAN party persocon'ing?! From 'Gang bang' to 'Bot Bang'?

Maybe the "Flat" is flat-chested(would it sell?) and "Pedo" is made in an image of a little girl...
I suspect somebody is stealing my internet identity so don't believe everything I tell you via messages. I don't post or send messages anymore so don't believe anything I tell you via messages or posts.

Actually, Bill Clinton (or more likely, the mass media at the time) did more to corrupt the minds of children the world over, than a tiny thread on a niche forum has a potential to do.

You'd be surprised at how well-versed today's youth are ^_^. Comparatively, I'm from the victorian era, since I consider anything non-vaginal to be totally alien  .
