My Hardisk External is Broken

First off, I don't know if this is the right place to ask. I know this might be not, actually. But I really don't know where to ask, all the computer relater forum seems unfamiliar, and I don't know which one is good to ask...

So, just like the title, my external hardisk is broken. I already ask someone I know, he told me that the spindle needle is broken or something, it can be repaired but it is need in vacuum room.

Actually I don't care if the hardisk broken, what's important is can I retrive the data in it?
Is there any other way? Or it is really the end?
Or is anyone else can recommed me where to ask solutions?
I am really doesn't know anything about technology, so please, the data is really important. It had all the script, my images, games, music. Though what most important is my script. I don't really care anymore about my games and music since, I already experiences a lot this kind. But I can not definitely lost my document and drawings data :'''(

Awww, my heart goes out to you. </3 I know the exact feeling. My laptop recently got broken, and while I was of course sad that I could no longer use it, it's the files that I was mostly concerned about. (Nothing hurts more than losing something you worked so hard in creating!)

I'm not sure if it's comparable to your case, but someone commented on my blog about this, which is a sort of cover for the insides of a hard disk.

Based on my own experience, when we had my laptop repaired, the repair guy removed the HDD and placed it inside that shell, so that it could work like an external hard drive. I don't know if the same will work for you since yours is already an external hard drive, but... hopefully it will!

Get it to a data retrieval service. Search on google for "data retrieval" and "data recovery" to find someone in your area.

In your case, it was the laptop that died, not the HDD. Moving the HDD to another enclosure would do nothing in this case; the spindle is a part of the hard drive itself, so when OP says the hard drive is broken, they really mean the hard drive. All the enclosure does is protect and give power to the hard drive. (Well, some also cool and stuff, but that's besides the point.) It's useful if the malfunction is in another part of the computer, but doesn't help in the case of an actual hard drive malfunction.

There's no option other than getting it repaired or getting a professional data recovery.

Aww, yeah, I see what you mean. I suppose that's why the repair guy assured us that I don't have to be scared of losing anything; it's because the hard drive itself wasn't broken. *whew*

Well, for now I'll keep looking since everyone circumtances were unique to each other... I really hope, I could retrive it someday :')

You're from Indonesia, right? There are plenty of data recovery services in Indonesia:

Just do a google search ("indonesia data recovery harddisk") for a company near your home and ask for a quotation first (I have no idea how much a recovery will cost).

It just that sometimes I am a type that affected by how the websites look, lol
If it is not neat, I'll thought that the service is not professional. I know I can't be narrow minded though, i just happen to have a bad experience through online service in Indonesia ^^;
But the doctor hardisk one is quite fine, I'll try contact them if they are available

Although it won't help with data files, you might be able to find backups Ren'Py made on your main drive. Hit windows-r, and type %APPDATA%\RenPy\backups
