I gave it a try, and the software told me it went fine.

Doesn't seem to work for me, though, likely because none of the local images work for me.
Here is what I get when I try to access Blue Lemma's avatar:

Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /Avatar.JPG on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Are others experiencing this as well, or is it just me?

You are not the only one with problems.

I get these errors.....................

Do you also get a 403 ("Forbidden") when you try to access any images hosted on lemmasoft.net?

If you can i.e. see the emoticons, that means you are not affected by it.
If they don't show up and there is a red X in a white box instead, you've most likely run into the same problem I ran into.

Hmm, I got it so you can select avatars, but no uploading yet... I'm not sure why this is

I'll have to research phpBB more.

Better yet, if anyone else knows how I might enable avatar uploading (I set it to "yes" in the control panel already), please share your ideas! ^_^

I guess for now you could e-mail me your avatars you want me to put in the gallery?

Linking to avatars is fine with me also - there are, after all, many places I could upload them.

Ok, I'm admin of a PHPBB2plus, version 2.0.4. Let's be running a checklist.
Admin Control Panel>General config
Enable avatar uploading = yes
Maximum Avatar File Size = 10k would be enough
Maximum Avatar Dimensions = 80x80 should do
Avatar Storage Path = images/avatars
Avatar Gallery Path = images/avatars/gallery
Your host must enable php and ftp uploading, and you need some space on the host

If this doesn't wouk, then I'm quite out of knowledge too. I could mail you my PHP files that take care of the uploading (eventually selecting the part out of it you need) so you can compare things, if you want. (Please use the PM system, I'm not sure when I will see this topic again).
