I don't think the OP uses WLAN access points. E.g. a friend of mine once used EDGE to get his internet connection anywhere he went.
It has its charms, but I don't really need mobile internet, since I rather sleep in the bus / train (or to be more exact, I have no other choice because of my overpowering sleepiness).
