While at a local supermarket <Safeway> got told *must evacuate* because some teens had sprayed a few people with something or other and as it was unknown - but caused two cashiers to be violently ill - everyone had to leave the store until the cops could determine that it was OK to return. Turned out it was more or less harmless but still...what do people get out of disrupting businesses like that? I just don't get it....

simple answer: people are assholes. They think its funny just to cause trouble.

I would resent that comment if it wasn't based entirely on my behavior up to now.

Not only do they think it's funny, some people actually think it's "cool" to cause trouble. It's like, "Wow look at me I'm so awesome I'm being a rebel!". Foolks =_=.

This reminds me of a story I heard around...

When I was in Burma, a long time ago, my friends and I were working for the local Government. They were trying to buy the loyalty of tribal leaders, bribing them with precious stones. But their caravans were being raided in a forest north of Rangoon by a bandit. We were asked to take care of the problem, so we started looking for the stones. But after six months, we couldn't find anyone who had traded with him. One day I found a child playing with a ruby as big as a tangerine. The bandit had been throwing the stones away.
Then why steal them?
Because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

This brings to mind when I was in the supermarket last year and saw a kid (I'm talking seven or nine years old, here) spraying BLEACH on the fruit.

Nevermind the fact that it's bleach or that he's spraying it on anything, how the hell did he GET it, and where was his MOTHER?

Anyway, yeah. Assholes.

The worse things is that the majority of the parents won't assume the responsibility in punishing their child.

Like the incident were a group of preppy teens invited a nerdy girl to their party. When she got to the rich kid's basement, the girls started beating the shit out of the young girl while their boyfriend watched and did nothing. One of the girl who was videotaping it would punch her at random times and this was posted on Youtube.

When the parents of the rich kids found out , they did nothing, and blamed the internet for it.

Kids nowadays lack discipline D:<

Ugh. That's just horrible.

Things like this make me think hard about whether I ever want to have children. ;_;
