Hey everyone. A few friends and I have formed a new otaku community:

We're trying to create something very different. Something very special. VJutsu aims to feature a lot of multimedia (e.g. weekly audio dramas) and interactive contents (e.g. voice chat, gaming sessions). I'll be honest - someday, I'd like every anime fan to go, "VJutsu? Yeah, I know that site. It's a really fun place to visit!".

I insist on announcing our presence on Lemmasoft first. Why? The VJutsu staff are all members of LSF, so this is a special place.

If you digg the idea, please join the VJutsu forums. The members of LSF never flame others, and I hope to create the same atmosphere at VJutsu. Of course, we want you to keep chilling out on LSF as well. We know we will.

We're trying to establish a unique community, and we hope you'll be a part of it! Thanks everyone.

Just have one question for us poor dialup users....will it be worth joining or will we have to twiddle thumbs liek crazy because everything loads and loads and loads?

I won't lie - things will be tougher for dialup users. However, we'll endeavour to keep our videos low in filesize. Also, our audio drama episodes aren't long, so they're very downloadable even at 56k. Lastly, there'll be lots of chatting etc., which anyone can do. So do it, musical74. Become a Vhinobi now . It's going to be fun as heck.

We've experienced some server issues, but they're now resolved. Hopefully more of you can hop on over. We worked hard to establish this community, and we hope it'll flourish. We've got a few supportive members so far, but we need more. Please join our family and get involved! Fun times for you and me.

As a suggestion, you should really better define what your community is about. Right now, you have all of the discussion boards we have here, but not really any of the technical ones. So it's not clear what the value to anyone in participating to your community is. You have a couple of "cool-sounding" words, like vhinobi, vhninja.... but without any idea of what that means.

I'd suggest maybe trying to come up with some on-topic contests, or things like that... to give people a better idea as to what the forum is about.

Also, my advice to a new forum operator is to be light with the rules, and light with the moderation. If you try to put out hard and fast rules, people will push them to see what they can get away with. If instead of having rules, you simply encourage (in private) people to be respectful, you'll generally get a less dramatic forum.

Finally, a php bytecode cache is worth installing.

To be a Vhinobi just means to be a part of the family. The value of our community is interactivity, which we'll start soon. For instance, forum roleplay, contests (like you suggested), etc. Also, I've called people up to play some MMO on the forum. VJutsu is like a day out with your friends. It's like Lucky Star. It's like Azumanga Daioh. It's not easy to define hanging out with your buddies. Having said that, the definition was even less clear when we first launched. However, it improved as things rolled along. Hopefully, the concept will keep becoming clearer. We just need numbers to know what events people are interested in.

Sure, we're light with the rules. This is something we learned from LSF. We don't want people to feel uncomfortable on the forum.

Overall, this is still VJutsu beta. So, please stay with us .

Our storytelling contest is over. To celebrate Halloween, we'll be posting every entry onto the main site. One will be posted every few hours. They're quick
