I guess some things I'd have to consider more are "is the work more obscene or artistic?" and "will it harm the LSF reputation to endorse it?"

But I am personally very interested in seeing what you come up with

A bit but probably just a few scratches or so...

That's why I'm interested to see what you come up with

Ooh, cool. I'll have to play all of those so I can come up with what I want to nominate, now. XD

So can you nominate games outside the renai archives with copyrighted material too? (ex. like Hinano's game).

I don't know if I'm going to, was just wondering.

This is a wonderful idea to collect all the best games for newcomers and a motivating factor for creators. I know I'm going to do a blitz to get my game out before the end of the year in the hopes to be nominated.

I love the artwork for the awards too, well worth putting up on a game's page with pride.

I can't wait for the avalanche of year-end games to start coming in.

Good luck to all the participating parties.

Enerccio : basically, as long as it's released in 2008 and takes less than 5 days to play :3

Oooooo~! I'd really like to put up BL for the 2008 Lemmy's! And a Lemmy award would be pretty neat. 11 days though.... I don't know if I'll make it... :\ Hrmmmmm....

Anyways, good luck to all those up for the running! :brings out pom-poms and cheers:

well, at least one of us is trying to do a VN more or less from scratch in under 10 days. any and all help towards this, particularly in terms of graphic contributions, would be greatly appreciated

I'd really like to finish it in time for this! >.<

Since I've been getting questions, a little clarification:
Judges (they know who they are) may nominate any games they want, but they may not actually vote for their own games.

This puts judge-made games at a tiny disadvantage in the judge portion of the voting, but there are enough judges that the effects should be small. ^^

I was looking at the awards again, and I was wondering why there wasn't one for visuals. Like the art and the graphics and such. I think it would be nice to reward the art and the layout customization and such.

A graphics award would be nice but it's kind of superficial.... but hey, who doesn't like eye candy? ; )
Anywhooo, how about renaming "Best Overall" to Visual Novel of the Year? There's movie of the year, game of the year, and so on, so why not visual novel of the year?

Yes! good idea!

also, I realize I probably don't have a real shot at any awards (unless some random "VN developed in under a month" award comes out), but I'll be interested in what the results are.
