Re: The 2008 Lemmy Visual Novel Awards - Now taking nominations!

An official Lemmy's list would have been nice indeed, as the website listings are not all up to date, or at least you'll think they aren't but games are only missing because of rules (like "no copyrighted materials"). A list specifically made for the Lemmy's would have just removed all doubts.

Wow, this has ballooned into quite the controversy ^_^

You guys make good points, and I thought about that stuff a lot. The idea behind the nomination phase is to narrow the game list down for the judges and voters. Judges are highly highly highly encouraged to play the games that are nominated so that they can make good fair decisions. If every game that qualifies is put to the final vote, it's near-impossible (or at least unreasonable) to expect very many people to play every game. By restricting the nominees to the top 3 or 4 (probably 4) some of this can be averted. This also helps non-judge voters who want to be fair by considering all the candidates :)

It's not a perfect system, but I thought it was a reasonable and fair one.

The game list is a good thing, so I will be posting that on the Lemmy page (if I can have mikey's permission)

So I checked on the Lemmys list, and I came across this.
The following games are ineligible for nomination (again, please PM if this info is incorrect):
Game Reason
Another Day Uses copyrighted material without permission
Nerr2Babe Uses copyrighted material without permission
Ren'Ai Blogger Project Uses copyrighted material without permission
I think Attorney D is in this list as well, since the bgms used are from Ace Attorney Phoenix Wright.

Wait, if copyright usage is an issue, than Raidaa no Asahi will not be able to compete as well.

*sigh* Put it in, take it back out, put it in, take it back out... @_@

Now that I recall, I remember not uploading Windy Capital to the archives because it also does not meet copyright requirements.

Tee... Hee... Hee... With so many candidates disqualified and the "polished" version days away from release... that Lemmy is as good as mine... MINE!!!

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

On another note:
I still can't believe nobody has reached the hidden arc featuring "a long forgotten Lemmasoft forum character... so forgotten, she doesn't even have a name."

Oh well... it's so very well hidden, might as well make it easier to find her in the "polished" Version.

Please PM your nominations, everyone! We want it to be a meaningful award. Image

So, here are my nominations. I sent them via PM.
I spent a lot of time thinking them through, and I also chose to nominate just one per category. Good luck, I hope the games make it into the voting round!

Best Overall: Ripples
Best Drama: Dream Chasers
Best Humor: Real Life
Most Innovative: Yaruge Girl Triona
Best Fanservice: Real Life

They're the special Lemma announcement post smilies! Image
...but I decided to float some here since I didn't have any announcements at the moment Image
(What can I say, I was feeling creative: Image )

Okay, I better stop now - no more until there's another announcement thread.
(and thanks, Vatina :) )
-----------
Back on topic, I got nominations from 3 people today... keep them coming please!
