Really, I can't quite pin a favorite down. The game that genuinely introduced me to the VN medium (and, ironically, this site) was the original Tales of Lemma. But, really, I don't have an absolute favorite.

You will make a good mother someday

I have to go with Ever17 because the art and story blow everything else away. So many different emotions in that game!

Yay, I love being a gateway VN

Commercial VN? not sure....VN made here? 3 way tie between Garden Society Kykuit, Ori, Ochi, Onoe, and Elven Relations. Why those three? 1) MUSIC 2) MOOD and 3) little easter eggs or hard to find things that made them fun! Yeah, muisic's important...you don't really understand HOW important it is. though, until you try a game without it. Mood? Each game has its own *mood style* but they are all very well thought out! Little surprises? I love those...whether it's teasing Randel about being a pervert or the *quasi-date* with Onoe or realizing you haver feelings for someone you thought you couldn't (have feelings for Tohko? But.....she HATES you, right?) they all make for fun games :)
