I'm completely new to Renpy and i know it is easy to do it in the "old" way but in the new way i can't find the line "config.developer" anywhere.
Also can someone point me out to tutorials that use the new GUI? I have only found tutorials involving the old GUI and thus i don't know much on how to edit stuff like menus and buttons etc. any tutorial made for the new GUI would help really.

I don't think that's the case...and I think it is automatically disabled when you build a distribution.

Really all you have to do to test it, is when you have a working game (finished or prototype), build a distribution and then just test to make sure you can't enter the developer mode from the game itself (not from the game through the Ren'Py launcher).

config,developer is now set to 'auto' by default. You can always manually set it to False if you want. And you should probably stop making Ren'Py questions in the General Discussion section. Go here: viewforum.php?f=8
