Attention LSF (Lemmasoft Filipinos): Read and lament!

How do you make your games? I see. Thank you for the prompt replies, but it is my considered opinion that you're doing it wrong inefficiently because I am a perfushenal professional. Do it my way this way and we can all ascend VN Nirvana together while allowing me to stroke my ego you will improve much faster. Also, please don't forget to thank me for this constructive critique or I will cry and bore you to death respond appropriately with a tl;dr rant discourse of epic adequately lengthy proportions. - Sarcasm Veiled in Euphemism: Secrets of Forum Civility by lordcloudx (Coming soon to an online ebook near you.)

Heavy sigh.

The police wasting their limited resources on nonexistant "victims" is just a pure crime against the real victims in need of help. This might sound like a good idea to conservative feminists or so, but in reality all this kind of unneccessary laws can result in is that the police don't have the time to solve cases that actually hurt people, and people who wouldn't otherwise have committed any crime against actual victims sitting in jail.

I'm not a lolicon nor a Filipino, but this... seriously. Why oh why?

This is what happens when a nation is run by graduates of cloistered catholic convent all-girls' schools. Not that I have anything against any Marimite-like scenarios. It just resembles the naive proclamations of beauty pageant contestants when in response to a question, they reply 'We want world peace!" All the while the crime lords and triads go about their business unhindered -- you know, dealing with real drugs and white slavery -- because no one has the balls (*cough* I mean money) to resist them.

So...? Introduced in the legislature, passed into law, and enforced by the authorities are three very different things.

I think the problem is that there are simply too many laws... in every country.

At the beginning you think "ah this new law makes sense". But than people either figure out a way around it or figure out a way to abuse it or the policemen follow it by the book even resulting in people getting arrested without actually having harmed anybody.

In some countries the laws are so many, you couldn't possibly remember them all... you walk down the street and go about your business and suddenly have committed a crime without even knowing it.

Of course this specific law... someone trafficing child pornography should of course be punished and in some cases a 20 year sentence might be necesarry. But for someone who is playing a typical japanese hentai game a 20 year sentence is not reasonable (as then there would be no one left who OUTSIDE the prisons  ).
And a law on paper can't distinguish between the two.
Moral values should be used to judge people not paper.

I'm sure that would solve the problem. Everybody knows that there's never any disagreement over what's moral or not!
And a law on paper can't distinguish between the two.
Actually, it could, and in most cases already does: the reason various countries are introducing these laws are precisely because they want to in many cases criminalise things they see as "immoral" regardless of actual harm; as opposed to the existing laws.

Damn...this is bad news...
*sigh*
It'd be nice if they put all this effort into doing something that actually helps 'REAL' people, not fictonal ones....

While I despise fictional child porn, I seriously think the penalties are exaggerated... >_o;

Almost as exaggerated as the amount of fuss this proposed law in the boondocks of the world is causing in the interwebs.

I don't despise it. I mean, look at Kanon, in which all the main characters are high school students. That was an adult game that would probably fall under this law... but at the same time, it's a work of fiction that spawned 2 TV shows. Something like that is art, and should be protected.

Let me be more specific about my particular PoV...

When it comes to fictional sexual content, I have no issues with explicit sexual content involving people around 16-18 years old having sex with each other; even if it falls under "underage" sexual content, it's socially accepted for m¡normal people to be sexually active at this age, so it's acceptable for me as part of a story or as a depiction of a particular situation.

Fictional sexual content involving 14-15 years old people bothers me, because it bothers me in real life too. I don't like stuff too explicit involving people this young. Now, if it's adults interacting with people this age, that just makes me sick, just as it makes me sick in real life.

Fictional sexual content of any kind involving people under 14 makes me want to kill people. Seriously.
I'd totally kill anybody who touched my 13 years old nephews. I'd disembowel anybody touching my 6 years old nephew.

That's my humble opinion ^^

It's not my fault. I was in my patriot mode back then.
