"2X Katrina" Typhoon Ketsana devastates Manila 5 hours

I wasn't sure if what I experienced was newsworthy, since we have about one or two dozen typhoons (tropical hurricanes) hit the country every year.
Not my blog and pictures (the water came in so fast I barely had time to unplug all electricals and climb onto my bed)

I was awoken around 11:30 am. My mattress and refrigerator were already floating at 1:30pm. Thankfully it all started to subside around 4:30pm.
I live in an affluent area with high elevation so we've been very lucky. The neighboring district of Marikina had people on their rooftops. The last flood I experienced was 15 years ago. This has been the worst disaster since 1967, they say.
