Hello, I'm new here, curious to know what anime/game you consider to have great music.

There's a lot for me, FF7, undertale, terraria, one piece, Nier, Fate series/anime, stardew..I could go on

for me is touhou project(all games including pc98), undertale and stardew valley(game)/anime: demon slayer and one piece

Library of Ruina definitely. It has several visual novel elements you can learn from to boot.

Lots of AAA games have pretty good music since they have a lot of resources to employ amazing artists and orchestra like TloU, Any of the fromSoft games, Guilty Gear, the Shin Megami Tensei series, Silent Hill, etc etc.
But I think a better answer would be something like Bastion, The World Ends with You and the Romancing SaGa games (though I think this last one is actually a pretty big franchise).
Especifically Visual Novel-like games that have amazing music are the Ace Attorney series (a series with music so prolific it spawned several spin-off albums) and Hotel Dusk for a more mellow soundtrack.

For anime, despite their genres being very different, I love the soundtracks they made for the Monogatari Series, Tatami Galaxy, Sonny Boy, Trigun, Cowboy Bebop and Sayonara Zetsubou sensei.
Lots of those served as inspiration for my own soundtrack and hopefully somebody else can find some good tunes from these recs.

I love music from any of the Persona games.

I have listened to the soundtracks for Samurai Champloo and Durarara!! more than any other anime or game music.

All the "Kimi no na wa" movie ost, or other tracks by Radwimps
