Hey

Any gamers in Northern MN or southern Canada. And no I wont say 'eh'.
Hit me up if you are
These games are really fun, I got the 3rd one and its really good. It's a real-time fighting RPG if any of you like that...Just making a suggestion to gkplayer/com its about this online game and this virus called AIDA infects everything. This guy literally sacrifices himself into one attack and defeats the virus but when he kills it he made a big-bottom monster. They fight the monster and win and stuff...happy ending...But all you do is run through some areas kill stuff and fight a boss...good stroyline tho What was the best thing about the game?

Anything coming soon?

You're talking about .Hack GU, right? Don't play just the 3rd volume, play them all. Also, don't forget to play the original .Hack games (which span 4 volumes... which also makes me mad, why don't GU also span for 4 volumes?) since it has some connection with GU, being a prequel...

And one thing I really dislike from GU is the localization. Why couldn't they just leave the Japanese voice like they did in original .Hack games?

I loved that in the original. Listening to the japanese voices. Mistral was uber cute. I never played GU but I loved the original.

GU is better in term of gameplay (the action is far more-fast paced and lots of button mashing). There is also a simple mini-game that is quite engaging. You'd better play it, if you love original .Hack games, you won't regret with GU (except for the voice).

I don't think mistral can be beat. Except by mirelle or whatever her daughters name is in Twilight

You mean beaten in term of power/skill, or in cuteness/moe level?

I liked the areas, overall character designs and overall class mashup more in the original .hack games (sure two swordman classes were redundant but hey, WAVEMASSTTERRRRS). Gameplay, graphics and interface are superior in GU though. Atoli dampened GU for me because of her constantly being shoved in Haseo's/my/the plot's face. Music is nice in both.

I'm somewhat torn on how they handle Grunties across games. I like access to my bike in GU as well as Grutyseo, but I also like raising Grunties.

I actually think the voices were fine in GU, Piros doesn't count as he's SUPPOSED to be that goddamn annoying.

@linkdragon0:
Well, then .Hack GU will definitely disappoint you. The reason is that .Hack GU is far more serious and has darker tone to start with, so no more cute/moe character. Well, you still have one or two here and there, but the girls are more adult and no more typical moe like in the original .Hack.

Yes, I played some of them. Missing some variation, but otherwise nice. I still think about getting the rest some day...

... On another note, I'd say this post is in the wrong forum.

In a nutshell: I have very strong feelings regarding the .hack G.U games.

Absolutely uncalled for .hack G.U rant: (....which I ended up editing so it wouldn't be so insanely long and ranty)
When you play the G.U trilogy, you see they made this HUGE effort to make you feel it's "real" The forums, the news footage, "OnlineJack" that had a subplot which I loooooved in which a tabloidish reporter is uncovering mysteries in the "real world" that totally affect Haseo's quest...(like, Hello, there, Sakaki)
All the other "players" have lifes and to me it was so awesome to "follow" them.

My absolutely personal reason to dislike it is...that I hated half of the playable party.
It's like there's an unwritten rule stating "Epitaphs will only be used by character Ludeshka will passionately hate" (Atoli, Kuhn, Yata, Endrance....hatehatehatehate). Also, the real villain? Infinitely inferior to the fascinating midboss.

It's like they are AWESOME at subplots and BOOOOOOOORING at the real story they're supposedly telling. XD

The music is epic. I really like Kajiura's work on this game.
...and I didn't really hate the english dub. Like, at all. But then again, Crispin Freeman and Yuri Lowenthal are two of my favourite voice actors EVER so...

About the characters... perhaps it's because they want to achieve more realism (there is no more moe-typical characters like in original .Hack). Would be normal people play an on-line games like crazy? Even from the first look, the protagonist Haseo definitely have some problems. Atoli, she's practically a lunatic. The other characters... well, none of them is normal... or at least almost all of them ^_^

I don't know about realism...or about Moe, either :P
And I really liked Haseo. Actually, I liked a lot of characters in the G.U games...but they didn't get epitaphs, so you weren't "supposed" to take them to the Big Meaningful Storyline Dungeons. (Sometimes, the story wouldn't advance unless your party had 3 epitaph users -_-) I hated that! I wanted to take Silabus everywhere! XDDD (and Antares! And Matsu! and Gaspard! And they totally took
Alkaid
away from me and I whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiined!!)

I guess I liked the "wrong" characters :P

Good god, so I wasn't the only one! I was PISSED when I couldn't drag ANY of them along.

Funny fact: Matsu and Gaspard were voiced by the same person in English, I laughed way too hard when I found that out.
