As you can see right now I'm serenity-blue which is fine for a screen name, but now that I'm getting into the VN making thing I'd like to change it to my actual pen name Serenity Frost. Mostly so people will recognize it when they see it in credits and such (and in anything else I'm involved with.) I've looked around to see if there's instructions on getting this done but I haven't found any. Will I just need to make a new account? That'll be a little annoying when I'm editing first posts in topics I've made for projects, but it's not beyond something I can do.

PM PyTom and ask if he could do anything about it. Perhaps he could change your username?

Can I have my username changed too? I'm planning to submit a major effort to IGF this year (hopefully they'll give an SRPG a decent chance compared to pure VNs) and I don't want people looking up my past hentai work.

However I spent a lot of effort in this community and it will seem such a waste if DaFool suddenly just disappears.

Maybe I'll just ask for a sockpuppet account when the time comes.

Then I must write same thing to you. Write a PM to PyTom about this, perhaps he can change your username... though if this username-changing thing become a trend, I'm afraid PyTom would eventually banned it.

As long as people can articulate a reason that goes beyond mere faddishness for changing their username, I don't mind doing it. I probably would deny someone asking to change "LuvEdwardXOXO" to "LuvJacobXOXO" or vice versa, but reasonable changes are fine.

Changing the username isn't the same thing as adopting a pseudonym. Username changes are mentioned in the column to the left of each message, so it's not like the old name won't be visible. Also, don't forget, while I can change the username in a few places, that doesn't change it in things like quoted messages, game credits, and the like.

If you want anonymity, your best bet is to create a psuedonym ("sockpuppet", but I should really edit that rule, as it's unnecessarily derogatory) account. As long as you behave with good faith, we won't do anything to out you, and will look down on people who do. It's much easier to create a new identity than to try and hide an old one.

And for the same reason: I wanted my pen name to be who I was associated with, not my blanket "username".
