Were do I start?
Hi, I am new to VN and have read some of Jack Nortons and Jisei. What is the VN you just have to read? I would prefer some mystery novels, preferably with nice art. Any suggestions?
Re: Were do I start?
http://www.insani.org for starters.
If you're interested in good visual novels, I highly recommend to read such free classic titles as Narcissu, A Midsummer's Day Resonance and True Rememberance, although I don't remember any free visual novels containing mystery elements similiar to those of Jack Nortons works, or Jisei (you've propably liked those, right?); though, you may like True Rememberance. With a little more effort, you'll propably get to commercial ones later. While Planetarian would be a good start, Wind has a good mystery twist to the story added, and there are a lot of other great titles, which propably aren't that easy to get, but you'll somehow manage, i'm sure of it. All you need to do is to get them. While I'm personally against any sort of piracy, you propably know what to do
Lately there were few translated titles, that are mostly an awesome read and have some air of mystery in them. Aoi Shiro is one of them. You have Saya no Uta (although it is up o you, if you'll like it or not; it's a very stodgy novel to read), most of Minori's titles have mystery elements incorporated with the story (along with the Wind ~ A breath of Heart is was talking about earlier). Sekien no Inganock, Cross Channel, Ballad of an Evening Butterfly... And you have our novels, too - Try to take a look at http://www.renai.us/.
EDIT: My bad, I mispelled the link address! It's correct now

If you're looking for a touch of mystery and a game you have to think about, might also try Date Warp.
I think the link should be insani.org?

Re: Were do I start?
I recommend if you want to make some VN, to pick a good proofreader since if I remember correctly from IGF forums you're not native english speaker.
