mikey and the Death Clock!

#1 Post by musical74 »

mikey's freedom ends in a few days...assuming that means he's getting married. Is this true? And who's idea was it to put that next to the Death Clock? hmmmmmmmmmmm? eclipse? BL? PyTom? mikey even? =)

Perhaps Mikey wanted an additional challenge... Make a ren'ai game in 20 days!! What would you call that? PiCoRenO?! At any rate, it certainly would put an end to one's freedom O_o;;;

Now that the Death Clock refers specifically to mikey, will game-making newcomers still realize that the clock should also refer to when they need to finish their NaNoRenO and IntRenAiMo entries?
Grand list of things not officially canceled:
Salt -- the heartwarming story of brain-eating space worms
Tangent -- an epic poem and/or novel about a borderline-autistic Martian imp and her relationship with God
Kittens of the Darned -- a grimdark soap opera about sexy catgirls (Indefinitely postponed until I learn to draw and color realistically)
The Other Mary -- the most perfect fic about the most perfect Mary Sue EVER
Rockheart -- a short story about a monster who kills everyone
Corrupted -- a completely different short story about a monster who kills everyone (late Worst Visual Novel Ever)
Checkpoint 36a -- the transcription of a short multi-ending dream about time travel and undead schoolgirls
In Which the Princess is Kidnapped -- an entry in the "ordinary girl ends up in an alien universe and tries to save it" genre
Pictogram Scramble: Magical Friendship Bunny Ivy -- a Flash game about a magical girl making friends (Indefinitely postponed until I learn how friendship works)

The old death clock will return when this one hits zero. (Or sometime thereafter.) In the meantime, the deathbar will keep ticking away.

I'm not worried about newcomers 10 days into the process, and existing game-makers know when the ending date is.

No, it's really true, me and Kathryn are getting married (after 10 years, it's about time). Special thanks to PyTom for that a bit unexpected timer ^_^, I knew something was fishy when he asked me for the exact time, but at that time I was thinking he wants to take some aerial shots and needs the time to pinpoint one of his satellites ;)

As for NaNoRenO, this is actually my official excuse for letting it pass this time, and while I could try an extra small challenge the truth is I haven't planned ahead. I am trying to make NaNoRenO my treat this time around (just enjoying the games), but one thing is certain, I won't be in this situation next year (I hope! ^_^), so all should be fine with the time in 2007.

Anyway, thanks not only PyTom for this nice and a bit scary (the freedom ends..) reminder and for understanding, we're both very very thankful for the support we get from this community, so wish us luck tomorrow. Since of course this forum is about games, hopefully we'll be able to give you something back in the form of an ATP game again some time.

I do say we, because even though Kathryn's contribution is mostly limited to character graphics, there is so much more from her in the form of supporting me in doing the games. It's something one never sees and something that isn't credited, but without that, many games ATP released just wouldn't be here now.

Long story short, thanks very much! :P :P

Satellite photos are hard to come by, and I don't think I could take one in realtime. The best I can do is this:

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&q ... 008948&t=h

Which I think shows the location at the center. It's hard to tell, since I'm working off of a map which is in Slovak. (Not my first, or nth language), and then trying to find the corresponding photo on google maps.

Anyway, I wish you and Kathryn all the best in your life together.

Wow, congrats mikey! =) I kind of suspected you were getting married given the way it was phrased.

Congrats, mikey! I wonder what sorts of games this experience will help inspire... ;)
