Free avatar hosting whitout the overkill?

Hello,

This is a very minor issue, but it's still nagging me. I'd like to have an avatar on the forum, but registering for a free photo hosting account just for that is definitely overkill. I can't use my free website account either, because they don't allow hotlinking (of course). Is there any other way?

There are several ways to put your avatar up there. These are a few:
If you have a Microsoft Passport account (you need to have it if you use msn messenger), then you can upload there your avatar, as any image file. You'll be able to hotlink from there.
Depending on your server configuration, you might be able to allow hotlinking for a certain IP/domain name. In that case, you only need to allow lemmasoft.renai.us and link the avatar from there.
If everything else fails, I can host your avatar in my site... I've hotlinking enabled (at least for now), and of the 2100 mb of storage I've assigned, I'm only using less than 100, so it wouldn't be any trouble If you want me to host your avatar, let me know either by post or PM.

Well, I don't have a Microsoft Passport and I don't even know what software they use on my hosting account. So if you'd be so kind to host my avatar, I'd be really grateful.

Here it goes. In case you're wondering, it resembles me surprisingly much, cosidering that:

1. It's a random avatar off the 'net.
2. It's drawn in manga fashion.

In fact, as I was reading your post, I got surprised for seeing you asking to host the avatar and the avatar showing already below your name... until I reached the following posts...

Probably late but anyway...

You don't need an account for imageshack. Of course, you have to keep track of the hosted link by yourself. Easy enough.

1. Goto imageshack.us
2. Upload
3. Look for the 4th link, the one that says Direct Link... save that one in a text file.

I have a short text file on my desktop, "avatar links.txt" and above each link I have a short description of the file. E.g. Etna 120x80 4kb, so I can quickly scan through my links to see which conform to a particular forum's requirements whenever I need an avatar.
