I am shown as a newbie.
How do I get a better position or rank?

lmao. Thread is win.

Pop around and jump into conversations, tell people what you think of their WIPs, or help people in the Ren'Py forum. Tons to do!

(your rank will change in accordance to your post count, you don't actually earn new titles by doing things. well. some people do if they sleep with Lemma. ;) )

Would it be considered spamming by creating your own personal forum and continually posting?
Actually, that'd be kinda stupid.
Whatever. Welcome to the Forums!

Yes? That kind of is since the topics show up on other users' menu page and that little orange light lights up and such...

You would have to make up a good topic so no one would notice you only wanted to post to get your rank up ;-)
Take a look at Perios - Chained Sorceress!
And also on Sword vs. Staff, my short new project...
And, of course, our blog!

My friend actually told me about a certain someone who was like that before, she said it was a few years ago, back when I didn't have a clue what a VN was, I think she was known as lina inverse or something, my friend said that she just disappeared. (I would like to apologize if she's still here.)

Anyway, I would like to welcome you to the forums as well...

Yeah, we should have a special rank for people who spam. We'll call it "Banned" ;)

Anyway, welcome! Don't worry, this question comes up once a year I think, and it was due...

What is spamming? Is it illegal?

In short, spam is a kind of advertisement by indiscriminate distribution of links. From the "victim" POV, it's just a message/email with links to the sites that have no connection with current topic.

I wouldn't worry about rank, unless you get some special privileges associated with it.
