A prequel to my story "Death Rule" and is the first game in the the Murder Game series.

Information
Title: Death Rule: The First Rule
Theme(s): Battle Royale, Survival
Summary
12 people have been taken by a group known only as the "Committiee" and thrown into an isolated forest to participate in a murder game.

On their wrists is a mechanical brace, which serves as a nullifier for a device that was implanted into their chest known as the "Gamepiece." If they remove the brace, attempt to escape, or break the rules set forth by the Committee, then the Gamepiece will activate, killing them instantly. To add to their dilema, special robots called Hunters have been unleashed, killing anyone who stand in their way.

Armed with numerous weapons, the civilians must make a choice; kill or be killed. In a game of trechery and distrust, who will be the winner of this twisted Game?
Characters

Abraham Archer
Image
"I'll tell the whole world the truth behind this secret Game!"
A young journalist who volunteered to participate the Game He joined mainly to get a good story, not really believing what the Survivors have told him about it. But once the blood starts flowing, he quickly learns just how real the dangers are, and how low he's willing to go for his own survival.

While he dosen't condone violence, he's recieved training in hand-to-hand combat and can be deadly in a one on one fight.

Abigail Mallen
Image
"I won't die, not as long as my children need me.
A mother of two and a well known caterer. After leaving her children with a babysitter, she was kidnapped and taken to the forest. A gentle woman, Abigail wants nothing more than to leave with as little blood on her hands.

She tends to forget her values when children are involed though.

George Kasen
Image
"What do you plan to do, copain? They have everyhting we don't."
A fashion afficionado and a Volunteer for the -Game- His lavish parties are almost as well known as his clothing designs. The only reason he joined the -Game- was to continue with his egregious expenses; he is currently in debt.

A selfish man, George arms himself with the finest weapons. But, having the best wepons dosen't mean that you're good at using them...

Maria Felix
Image
"These people laugh at our struggle, they are far from human."
A pharmicist and a Muttaga (Human with physical animal traits) She had been taken after closing her pharmacy for the evening. Her firery personality is what allowed her to survive the last time she had been taken, she hopes to win again using the same tactics.

Maria carries with her several syringes of poison and a handmade injector-gun.

Sherry Tannem
Image
"Please help me msiter, I don't know what to do!"
A young 11 year old schoolgirl. She was taken from her school during her lunch period and dragged off school grounds. Being the child she is, Sherry is deathly afraid of the situation at hand. Apparently, her father dissapeared in the same manner as she had; did he also participate in this game?

The young girl is physically weak, but can outrun almost anyone.

Lilly Magure
Image
"Lilly is...good..."
She is the child of a well known biochemist and perhaps the first natural-born Muttaga. Lilly was taken from her father's laboratory after the power went out. Her genetic mutation has given her dog-like traits like enhanced sense of hearing and smell.

Tanya Serris
Image
"The rules are merely guidelines, they can be broken so long as it amuses them."
A librarian and a well known student at her academy. Tanya is known to do whatever she can if it serves her purpouse, but can easily be put in line by those older than her. Was kidnapped after heading to school one morning.

Dwight Hatcher
Image
"We can't win them if we fight amongst ourselves!"
A young Middle-school aged boy. He was taken from his home late one night after playing with his friends. Dwight is not like most of his age who have been slowed by the use of drugs or alcohol, he is physically capamble of taking on most of the other players. However, he is emotionally weak and can be easily manipulated into doing someone's dirty work.

Morgan Ester
Image
Killing isn't always bad, you know.
A criminal who has no respect for human life. She was specificly chosen due to her criminal record; having 15 assasinations under your belt tends to attract attention like that. A cold, calculating extreamist, Morgan is not above outright slaughtering her competition like cattle, but it's not like they could have done anything to stop her to begin with...

Tinasa Blatchford
Image
"You should never trust a stranger, you have no idea what they can hide."
A college-bound girl who can't keep her opinions to herself. After returning home from her night classes, she was taken by a group of armed men and knocked out. Never one to stray from a fight, Tinasa will get into the thick of things without much thought of the concequences and tends to be a bit rude.

Hector Benette
Image
"You've never been in a battlefield? Well then, this will end bad for you"
A simple office worker and discharged militant. He was taken after leaving his office one night. Usually the most level-headed in a group, Hector's time in the battlefield makes him no stranger to a gunfight. Sometimes suffers from PTSD due to his days in the army.

Gabe Rotwell
Image
"Get too careless, and this place will be your grave."
A poor, homeless man with a slight drug addiction. The man was taken while unconcious from a late night of drinking. While to many he may look like someone who's lost their mind, he's actually well educated and tends to understand what he is talking about.

The Committee
Haud vir vadum parco nostrum ira!
Image
Seal of the Committee
No one knows who or what the Committee is, but what is known is that it has connections to some of the planet's most powerful businesses. They have been running the game for over 4 years now, using the money earned through bets to continue running this twisted murder game at it's peak.

Seeing as people are becoming squicked by the fact that there is blood and gore in this game, I have added a "Blood Leecher" to reduce the impact of these scene.

Hi HigurashiKira,

I like this type of story. How should you call it? Survival game story? Like Battle Royal and this new manga I'm reading Eden no Ori. (Wait a minute, that's not a game, at least I don't think it is yet. It could be that some twisted evil mind sent them to the island. D:)

Oh, books too, like And Then There Were None (aka Ten Little Indians). That's my favorite book ever <3.

It would be great if your game had a really cool twist~

Is it called Mini-rule because it's a prequel? Mini-Death rule.

I can't believe this game has little answer. I like the premise! XD

I wish you can use original sprites though, because I've seen the same sprites in sooo many different games...

HigurashiKira put in a request for an artist for this game in the recruitment forum. :) I know at least two people (myself and another) have applied for the position.

I think it's good that he did work on it and posted some screenshots, even if it's free sprites. More writers should take from his example. ^.^

It is a prequel to another story (Which may or may not become a VN, depending on my mood after I finish this one)

Funny that you mention BR, I was inspired to make this game after reading "Killer Queen" and in fact, I take a lot of elements from that game and change them around here.

Oh, and there will be a twist, though it may not come up here untill another time.

Ofcourse! I wasn't asking you to reveal it on the forum. *gasp* D: Twists and twist endings are the mother of all spoilers to give away. :V

No twists, just innocent killing :3
(I mean, the title gives that much away...)

Innocent killing? Innocent people killing people (self defense)? Innocent people being killed by people? Babies killing people (through childbirth)? A killing that is not morally wrong as there was a good underlying reason for it (like justified executions)? An accidental killing? A person named Innocent killing people?

No wait! Don't tell me!

I won't say anything, but you should watch this to get some of the jist of the idea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHuVVNfgcYw

I said that "Killer Queen" inspired me...

That was cool. I've never played that game before.

So, the uh.. collar things that they were wearing around their necks are like the bracelets in the game? They had collars in Battle Royale too, right?

Those prevent the players from quitting the "game" right? So, I guess the bracelets are really tight on their arms so that they can't remove them. But what it one of them decides to...chop off their arm? (beats dieing IMO)? Or there are some people that are really flexible and may find a way to take it off.

I think that's why they have them around the neck in Battle Royale. So that you'd die if you try to remove it.

Or do the bracelets serve another purpose?

The bracelets serve as trackers, and while it is possible to remove them with a bit of effort doing so will get them killed thanks to a device implanted in their chests since they are also nullifiers. The only 2 ways to remove it safely would be if:
a)You're dead
b)You complete the task set by the Comitee

The only other puropse to carrying it would be if the PDA the players have are broken. Then it serves as a communication tool with limited funcionality.

Oh I see! It's good to know that you've thought everything out. :3

Gah, so many questions.

Do any of the Comitee (Committee?) members make an appearance?
Where is the forest? (On an island? It's always an island xD)
What are those ranks?
What is Immunda-Cruor syndrome?

Not to mention the questions about the characters, like what's up with Kazue. I'm guessing they get weapons somehow since you mention each of their proficiencies with them.

I like the mystery this game has already. There definitely needs to be more Suspense/Horror VNs here.

Oh, again, don't answer my questions. I was just thinking out loud. xD

I don't mind answering them. :3
Do any of the Committee members make an appearance?
Only 1 of them will appear, but she is more of their minion.
Where is the forest? (On an island? It's always an island xD)
Nope, it on the mainland. But it's fairly isolated, the chances of a person walking into the area are 1 in 15,000
What are those ranks?
Oh, there's apoint to them, but I'd spoil too much if I say ;)
What is Immunda-Cruor syndrome?
First to add some backstory, the story is not on Earth; it is on an entirely diffrent planet with it's own diseases and people. The story is in an alternate dimention where man succeded in flying into space during the 1500's and the Earth became inhospitable during the 1700's. So at the time of the story it's in modern times like in the late 2000's Early 2010's (in that dimention).

Immuda-Crudor Syndrome is a disease that essensialy makes the blood acidic, treatment is expensive as it is and the cure is almost ridiculusly expensive. You're either born with it or you get infected via blood exchange (ex. sharing needles, blood transfusions, etc.) It is very deadly and usually those infected don't live to see past their 20's if they're lucky.

That's about all I'm willing to come out with! These points aren't very important so that's why I said them.

Whoathatblewmymind. All this time I was assuming this took place on earth...and then suddenly it wasn't and everything changed. xD Not only is it a different planet, but it's a different dimension too! :0 That brings up a billion more questions but I'm not going to dump that on you. >w<

That's a cool back-story though. Do aliens or spaceships play a part in the story? What's the planet called? Are the people still called humans or "nameofplanet-ians"?

There I go again.
