Traditions composed of wish-granting sunflowers and dances in honor of the sun have formed through the past few years, but the focal point of these celebrations remains to be the mythology of a country that exists in a parallel world. Enter the town of "Luningning", the town where the radiant sunlight is more prosperous than the rain. The town where the Diwata "Apolake" is viewed as a guardian.
The sunflower-seed and festival of lights held in the town's only school, however, suffer due to the recent storms and rainfall. With only one sunflower left (and only one wish to come true) for the year, the members of the community are torn over rejoicing over the first "lone prince or princess" of the festival of lights, or grieving over the loss of many bright hopes and dreams.
Aside from this, the owner of the sunflower is unknown, with many assuming it to be a boy who braved through the flooding area to check on it.
With all these mysteries afoot, the main character decides to check out this legendary flower before the start of classes....and finds herself in a situation where a majority of choices would lead to compromise, as well as damage to the well-being of the town.
Or perhaps...she simply misunderstands the situation at hand.
General Info:
As stated in the title, there's quite a bit of Fantasy and there's a bit of Mythology, but only a bit to run through the 7-day game span. Nonetheless, with this project, I'm glad to say progress is going smoothly and quickly because it's easier to plan out everything. Especially the names.
Also, the game size is 500x500 pixels. Just so you know.
Overall, the plot doesn't center around a Filipino myth (Awww.) and the festivals and location are made up (Spork, stop paying Tokimeki memorial and Persona 3 or 4!) but I'm trying to keep the whole Filipino essence. If I have time, I'll even (attempt) to translate the whole thing into Filipino (which would be a problem, considering my strange mix of Ilonggo and Taglish. Or as a Language teacher of mine called it...."Engalog" pfft. my Tagalog+English = fail. )
Characters:
Being the ultra-minor project it is, the game only has 6 characters. That includes the random student trio composed of "Female Student", "Other Female Student" and "Male Student"
Protagonist
Aside from her default name being "Marisa", there isn't really much personality to explain except her being a little...depressing and pessimistic. Just a little.. It's all up to the player to decide her choices in the gmae. So whether she gives a damn about the whole situation or not, it's not me to decide.
Amarilyo Adlaw
The young boy who took care of the sunflowers before the floods. He's cheerful and bright, and quite handsome as well. There are rumors about him being an idol who wanted to retreat to the country, due to his good looks and attitude.
He loves to hang out near the stream, or up on one of the school's acacia trees.
He appears to be quite fond of the Protagonist, and talks to her even when she decides to tell hm to shut up.
Juan de La Cruz
Often called "Juan Tamad" by his coworkers for his -often- carefree attitude. Mr. de La Cruz is the homeroom and Science teacher of III-1, the class of the protagonist. Despite his job, he loves to discuss mythology and legends, as well as the town's many festivals.
Random Student Trio
Student A ("Female Student") is considered the intellectual beauty, B ("Other Female Student") is the wanton cutie, and C ("Male Student")is the bishounen without a care in the world. Maybe they'll have names and purposes in the future, but for now...they're merely background characters.
P.S. They actually have names, but the game never mentions them until the last day. Hm.

7/1 - Wooahhh mannnn first project to reach the near-completed stages. I'm only allowed on the PC when there are no classes nowadays, so I'm trying my best to finish this up. And the site, too.
As soon as my sister gets home I am going to scan the CG sketches and all related art and just go crazy with my ten-dollar drawing tablet.
