Re: Lonesome
I am very new to this forum.
So, I didn't know that it was necessary to tell him if I made a few changes myself.
Because it was my script after all.

Re: Lonesome
Rule no 1 for working in a team: Communicate! Rule no 2 for working in a team: COMMUNICATE!!!!
I can somehow understand if you felt my interpretation of your dialogue wasn't what you were trying to say. It's perfectly okay to decide against using it - however, you should have given me a chance to improve what I submitted! Had you told me "look, this scene doesn't sound the way I wanted it to any more; it should come across colder/rougher/more bleak", I could have given it another try. You already know I'm a fast worker; why didn't you tell me what was wrong?
Even worse is the fact that I took out a few of your grammar and spelling mistakes and you put them back in! If I'm the proofreader and people read that stuff, they will think "geez, that Taleweaver did an awful job proofreading this script; it's still full of mistakes". This is putting me into a bad light, and the worst part about it is that, again, you didn't even tell me there was a problem!
To make a long story short, start communicating with the people you work with. In one single game production, you've managed to upset three people who were working for you free of charge. Don't you think this is something you could improve upon?

Not posting in this forum would've prevented some misunderstandings, since the forum is called "Completed Games."

Also, your previous and later statements are kind of conflicting.
does not completely compute withWright1000 wrote:But you are forgetting that this isn't the final version.
I can always release a fresh version.
^ This signifies when you put this thread up, you did not have any intentions of releasing a new version unless necessary, which means it probably wasn't a work in progress in your eyes. You're probably just covering your tracks.Wright1000 wrote:Future release: I don't think there are any mistakes in this game. But if there are any, I will release a fresh version of this game soon.
Yes, I still kinda mad, but not as mad as I was yesterday.
(Edit: Ok, looking back I see that you may have realized your mistake and decided to call it a WIP even though it was initially a completed game in your eyes. I apologize; this situation has just been extremely stressful to me.)
I will continue on my work on finishing the sprites, if only because when you initially posted this I was already almost done with the darn things anyway.
Next time when you give an artist a deadline, make sure to tell the artist that deadline, mkay? As magnificent as we are, we're not mindreaders. :B

Re: Lonesome
I think I have already said sorry many times.
It is bad that you are still so rude.
By the way, there were no spelling mistakes or grammatical errors in the script I released.
Taleweaver said, "In one single game production, you've managed to upset three people who were working for you free of charge. Don't you think this is something you could improve upon?"
I don't think platonicheart is upset about anything.
On the day before I released my game, I told platonicheart "I am sure that the game will be released tomorrow".
Platonicheart wasn't upset when I said that.

Re: Lonesome
Hi,
unfortunately I have to disagree with your claim that there are no spelling mistakes or grammatical errors in your current release. The opening line "I am the son of one of the richest businessman in the world" gives a singular form of "businessman". However, in this case, it must be plural, because you are describing a group. "One of the largest kids". "Two of the smartest donkeys". "One of the richest businessmen".
The script is riddled with similar awkward constructions. The reasoning on why it would be strictly grammatically correct is there, but few of the lines come out as something that a teenager or young adult would say. Try using colloquial speech more.

Re: Lonesome
I had a reason for my rudeness (though I did already apologize for it); I am an upset artist that had my trust betrayed. You, however, did not have any reason for your rudeness.
(It probably doesn't help my temper any that as soon as I forgave you, you tried to shift the blame on to me, saying you thought I said the images were done when I clearly said "Here is my progress with the last image you gave me", which implies I wasn't done with it yet. I believe I have a reason to still be angry.)
I can not vouch for whether she is really upset about this because I haven't talked to her about it.

^ That is where Taleweaver must have thought you upset Platonicheart, not by releasing the game when you did, but because you didn't give me enough time to finish the art. That is where you may have upset her. You also didn't tell me you were going to release the game when you did, so I had no clue.SilverxBlue wrote: And yes, I noticed that the art was unfinished and I sort of told platonicheart about it, and she asked why exactly did you do it? Re: Lonesome
Platonicheart told me herself that was why she was upset. However, I believe this all started because of what Taleweaver mentioned earlier: communication issues.
I think a lot of these communication issues could be solved if you got your next team together in a group chat or private forum. I'm fairly sure sites like forumotion.com will allow you to make forums only visible to members, and you can make it so that members have to preapproved, so only certain people could be members. A forum would allow you to put all the information about the project together for everyone in the project to see, and wouldn't require anyone to download software they may not want to, such as instant messaging programs.
I am personally using a Skype group chat, and it is working marvelously for our needs, but your needs may differ from ours. A Skype group chat differs from an MSN group chat in that you can view conversations that took place in that chat while you were offline, which is helpful for us because my team members live in Britain and have to go bed earlier than me.
Another thing you should take into account is to remember to give your artists a deadline (and remember to tell them the deadline), and be understanding if they can't make it. We are real people, with our own wants, needs, real life issues (such as jobs), and projects.
I sincerely apologize if my actions and words offended or upset anyone, including but not limited to Wright1000; this situation has been extremely stressful on me, and I have enough issues to deal with in my home life and other projects.

Re: Lonesome
Alright, so I downloaded and played this game today. Congrats on demo! (?)
I think it has a good premise and has the potential to be a very interesting game – but like a few other people have said the dialogue is very dull.
The characters come from interesting backgrounds, but the dialogue and little details you add also make them very lifeless. By details, I mean like when Fernando goes upstairs to Ava's room – it's just like he goes up and knocks. Alessandra's father is rich right? Wouldn't the house be kind of big and the room would be hard to find with the countless rooms up there? I mean like little details like that can really make everything interesting. I think that if you do that it may not sound so monotone, because like I said, the storyline is interesting.
I like the artwork, but you should of course let the artists finish them...but now it's in the WIP section so you can always fix it later in the complete release.
As for proofreading I'm horrible with spelling/grammar so I don't really have much to say in this area. XD
In conclusion, it has good promise as a game but at least try to spice it up a bit!
