A video teaser of the time travel "tutorial" in chapter two. Description:
A little teaser of the time travel stuff. Uhh the script for this part hasn't really been edited yet, so a couple lines here and there don't make much sense, etc. Anyway, enjoy. :D For more on Break Chance Memento, visit our website: http://bcm.piratejewel.net !

Note: These are mostly placeholder sprites (Well, this is generally what the sprites look like, but they'll have proper expressions. Natsume and Chiaki also look a bit different now.) and backgrounds. The classroom/"library" BG is done by Auro, though, so that one's official. :D
There's still a lot of things I need to finetune, but at least the whole thing is functional. If anyone is really bored, I wrote out a post about the coding logistics of the time travel/inventory system, which I coded from scratch. (bottom 1/3 of the post)

Another background. This time it's a love hotel, the first background you see in the game.
I have... issues replicating techniques apparently. Do you guys think it goes okay with the other one, or is it too different? D:

Thanks ^_^ I was super paranoid about the colours, but I think they may have grown on me. I'm just very eager for everything to be nice and cohesive.

Something I noticed on Planet EVN... on Twitter, Epincion asked, "Thinking about adding time limits to the choices in BCM to emphasize the importance of time… Good idea? Yes? No?"

I'd say use this sparingly. A number of professional games have used timed choices (including Yo-Jin-Bo, the Sakura Wars series, and Love Hina Advance). But I believe it makes sense to use timed choices only when something urgent is occurring. If the characters are not in a tense situation, then the player should be able to calm down, and consider what options are available.

Haha, I was just musing to myself. I couldn't think of a good way to add something like that in without it being kind of annoying, so yeah... Nope. XD I think that if you could turn the feature off or if it only appears some of the time, it kind of defeats the purpose of having it in the first place, so I'd rather not include it in that case.

Please. Don't include that. I mean, it does make sense in moments where it's a matter of time but...usually...don't. Okay, it's my personal dislike for that thanks to Yo-Jin-Bo, buuuut. Good thing you don't really consider adding it for now 8D

Ohh, I finally managed to see the teaser. It's so promising! Looks really cool <3 I ca't wait to try it myself *g* The interactivity! It will be sooo fun to play, I can see it! Ahhhh *excited* Also, because I'm very curious, what new project is that one that you're programming?

@Arcanum: I'm glad you think so, hehe. I've tweaked the time travel features a little bit for various reasons, but I think it's still very interactive and fun (to play, not to code, lol). Should be interesting seeing the different ways people approach the cases in the game.

I'll probably, in the nearish future, make a very small feature demo so that people can try the time travel and give me some feedback on it. (if anyone's interested in testing that, please let me know) Auro and I are waiting to release a bigger demo when it's a better representation of the final product. xD

This is that other project that I'm helping with programming for, though it's on hiatus right now because the main person (doing the writing/art/etc) just got a new job and is really busy. I've just about done all that I need to for it, though, except code some of the GUIs for her. I'll pick that up once the project starts up again. It's kinda nice just doing programming for a small project, haha. It's the design/writing that's the most stressful/time-consuming for me. 8D

And I swear I'm not favouring Shuuki and Chiaki on purpose. I think.

I think the colors match really well. :O I like how all your BGs so far for the game have this green/pinkish tint to them. XD And randomly, I like all the scratches and scuff marks on the wood floor.
