Hello and welcome to the WIP thread for Say You Love Me, a fairy tale story. SYLM is a partly satirical story about false choices, first impressions, and letting go and moving on. There is only one ending, but you can get different scenes by making certain choices, such as doing something you're explicitly told NOT to.

Also, rather than making a sequel to the first game, it's been decided that it'd be better to make a complete, longer game. The flow shouldn't be interrupted, as the second one had taken place right after the first one.

Simple Story:
One day, after deciding to go on a short walk, a young man meets a odd teenage girl standing in the middle of a road. Upon speaking to her (she was right there, wouldn't it be rude NOT to greet her?) and starting a conversation with her, a number events occur that may lead to his life spiraling out of control. He may just wished he'd have stayed in bed that day.

Story Containing Spoilers:
Van Moore recently moved to Ecks City. One day, out of boredom, he decides to take a walk outside of it. On his way home he meets a odd girl who turns out to be a faerie under a curse (caused by her sister Wednesday) that says she must find a human husband in about a week's time or she dies. Who else but Van, who's apparently a weirdness magnet, would end up as her husband? Now, all he needs to do is find a way to end October's curse. Unfortunately, the only known solutions are that Wednesday must willingly end it (fat chance) or someone must die.

Van(ce) Moore -
The player character. Van recently moved to Ecks City from a small town about 200 miles away. He's a generally agreeable and helpful person, but has a tendency to be cynical or a deadpan snarker.

October -
The weird girl who Van encountered while walking home. Despite her politeness and over all demeanor, she avoids questions about herself and acts like she's hiding something.

Wednesday/Wendy -
The main antagonist and a generally ill-tempered and acerbic person, with a mean streak a mile wide. She's also known to get back at people in ways that cause psychological, in addition to physical, damage.

Are you going to use different sprites from what you sued in the original release?

Yeah. I like Skim's, but I'm anal retentive enough that if they didn't all match up it would bug the ever-living daylights out of me.

That's probably because when I draw her, she has a tendency to look like an eight-year-old, rather that being pre/early/mid teens. 8D And I never actually colored her, because my coloring is terrible.

And thanks. I've got the beginning and ending, I just need to work on the middle. (Yeah, I generally write the ending first, or at least have it planned ahead of time). The only time I'm worried about is that the climax of the story *may* come off as, well, anti-climatic.

Looks good, such a pleasant smile (wait, the second one is a smile, isn't it? :P). There are far too few characters with crazy expressions out there, in my opinion.

There does indeed need to be more characters with psychotic expressions. Besides yandere characters, I mean.

(Random thought: I think that personally if you can some up a character as 'yandere' and that's it, that's terrible characterization)

Yeah, Jadeookami's done a great job of interpreting my characters. While the designs are mostly me, she totally gets credited for improving clothing designs and their colors. The pattern on Mystery Girl's skirt, for example, is all her. 83

I know, right? The original sprites came with Novelty and were done by Skim/Skimlines. She's got DevArt and is working on her own project, too, if you're curious.

Also, two updates. The first:

The game may now have two endings. Sort of. It's still meant to be basically the same ending either way (anything else would defeat the original purpose) but one may be more of an 'extended' thing.
