Hello there, My name is Ben. I'm one of the protragonists of the new game "Cause Without a Rebel". It is a fantasy themed Visual Novel set in the city of Destral.
There, I am a member of the rebel army trying to fight the upper class.
This Visual Novel features two protragonists.
The other one is called Sarah.












Someone who can't even remember what she was doing last week has no right to call someone else a moron. As I was saying, there are two protragonists.
On the first playthrough you will see my point of view...

Maybe a little bit thinner in her neck, and a bit shorter? She seems a little off. Other than that, it looks like an interesting concept. A New Game+ thing opening a new path. Very RE2.

Progress report!
(Because the first post took a long time and I was feeling lazy.)

Writing:
First draft: ~45% (Should be finished this in a few days)
Second etc. draft: 0% (Obviously)

Art:
Sprites: No percentage since I'm still not sure how many I'll need, but one finished and one half finished.
Backgrounds: 0%
CGs: 0%

Music: 0%

Finished the first draft of the first route now. Currently about 2k words now. Took longer than expected since I decided to completely change the ending to fit Ben's personality better. Second route should be longer, but take less time to write, since much of the dialogue is repeated from the first.
Art-wise, I've sketched out most of the sprites, but haven't got around to colouring them yet. Also been searching for suitable backgrounds. I'm getting a terrible foreboding that I'll have to draw most of them from scratch anyway.
Music...Don't talk to me about music.

Woohoo! 3/4 finished the first draft. At 3300 words now. Would be finished already, but I've just recovered from a bad cold.

Aaaaaaand First draft finished! Woohoo!

Also, art update in first post.

The faces are a little too narrow from that angle I think, they don't quite look mapped onto the heads fully, it's difficult to do things from different perspectives though. I would also try going with more colourful costumes if it's a fantasy type thing, or darker if it's an urban fantasy. I love the "That Feel" guy's face.

The chibis are very cute.

Just a thing about the girl's sprite - I think her, um, boobs are a bit bit droopy and the shading's off. (because she's wearing a bra, right? ...please don't let the answer be no...) Anyway, her sprite is finished and that was very nitpickyish of me, so it's good now, too. (In both I'm still assuming she's wearing a bra. Heh heh.)

The fact that they're wearing normal clothes is sort of the point. There will be a character with a more elaborate costume in it though.

Lemme put it this way: At no point in the story is it stated that she isn't wearing a bra.

And thank you everyone for the compliments on the chibi intro. I'm hoping to have a Tiger-Dojo style section featuring them at each bad end.

I am totally not dead!
Real Life has been getting in the way for a while now, but I have been making (very slow) progress. The second draft is at ~25%, I've revised the sprites slightly, drawn two of the CGs, and started working on some of the music. I'm still not sure how I'm going to create the backgrounds though.

I'm curious as what you mean by "working on the music"...
