Title says it all. Again, we're looking for someone who's able to compose some music that sounds like authentic traditional Japanese tunes, pentatonic scale, clicks, drums, shakuhachi and all. Anyone who feels up to the challenge, please report in. A fully playable demo of Foxtaile will be provided to whoever is willing to work with us, and we'd even agree to completely change the style of music as long as it fits the setting. (Think "Princess Mononoke". Unfortunately, we can't afford Hisashi Jo.)

I know I'm not the best person for this, but I do write some "classical" style pieces, which have been (rather heavily :P ) influenced by Hisaishi Joe. I'd be willing to give it a shot, at least. What do you have so far?

EDIT: I figure I might as well attach a sample of something I did recently for a different project. Not exactly Asiatic in flavor (although the primary melody in this section is mostly in the pentatonic), but that can be worked on... It's also raw synth output with no post work, which can also be changed.

So, yeah.

I'm not sure if this would be of any help, but have you looked at the files in the Australian Creative Resource Online? They have some free Shakuhachi melodies (scroll down to the bottom of the list) available, licensed under Creative Commons, which only requires you to give attribution to the original creator and use it for non-commercial purposes.

No, I haven't. Looking at that next...

Mihel, I'll send you a PM later. We might get together. The snippet you put online sounded intriguing enough. ^_^
