Scanning area: any artists around?

#1 Post by Taleweaver »

Hi everybody,
for the second installment of "A Day In The Life", I'd like to add some artwork for the scenery. Problem is, I suck. Anybody out there who'd like to help me will be welcome. I need artwork for the entire scenery - probably around 20 different locations. Character artwork won't be necessary.

Anybody interested?

As it is with most game makers who don't have artistic talent, it's probably best if you get pictures off the internet or some such. Not too many people are all that interested in making landscape art alone.

If I needed "landscape", this wouldn't be a problem. Problem is, I need pics of INSIDE buildings... hmmm, maybe I can find some anyway. Thanks for the tip, Tralu.

Depends what kind of Inside Scenery you need... i could whip up a nice background using 1, 2 point perspective, 3 point if you need bird eye's view... i prob could get you a pencil sketch sometime after a weekend when im not busy with school work xD 8)

What kind of inside building picutres?... inside classroom pictures?... bed room? bathroom(grin)?... O_o... if you want it in color, well its gonna take a while then xD :P

Wee... Sounds intresting tho >.> :D

Ciroth: I'm going to PM you tomorrow about the art I need. Right now, it's 12 minutes past midnight and I'm going to bed ^^

That's... Not really the picture of the inside of a building. :)

Speaking of interior shots, I did find some great indoor reference pictures once on a site that hires out venues to be used as settings for movies. Can't remember the name of the site offhand though.

Maybe this section of http://www.morguefile.com might be some help? Check their About page: the images are free for anyone to use, you don't even have to credit them! (Though I'd think giving a credit to http://www.morguefile.com would be nice :) )

There's also Stock.XCHNG (http://www.sxc.hu/index.phtml), has a wider selection than morgefile, IMHO. With some post-processing you can make those pictures look pretty good.
