Almost Dramatic!

Yay for first times! (In the VN-world that is...)
So I'm presenting my first ever ren'ai game: "Almost Dramatic!" which will feature the classic ren'ai setup...in a sort of parody like way.
The story focuses around Kouhei Suno (i.e you) and his high school life. At a military school. Kouhei himself is quite the weakling often getting beaten up by his classmate Reina Kikawa, who has this almost insane grudge against him. However Kouhei does have a harem of females with varying degrees of love for him. Each girl will be a moe/ren'ai game cliche with a twist for each of them.
Currently I've only finished all character designs but final CG's for them need to be started and completed. Oh! And thank you to BCS for the backgrounds! I also plan to have full to near-full voice acting in the game although I'll hold auditions at the VAA later.
If you would like to see the games current look:

h-game?

Please forgive me for being dense, but what is an "h-game"?
(Btw, are you limiting voice acting try-outs to professionals and semi-professionals, or are you going to open it to people (like me) who have no experience but might want to try out for fun?)

Well, a "h-game" is a hentai game. And this will NOT be one. And as for voice acting, it will be open to anyone who wants to try! So of course you can audition when the time comes!
h-games, et al

Basically, H-game refers to ecchi, which means "sexual" in japanese. Hentai litterally means "disordered" and doesn't have the same meaning in japanese ears and in american/european ears.
I prefer saying "H-game = Adult Game" rather than hentai because I'm a mere purist when it comes to translating, but I don't really care whether you said "hentai game" or not. Plus, I think most people use "hentai-game" to say adult games now, so it's not that important.
I only find it funny when people organize into a hierarchy hentai > ecchi (with hentai being purely sexual, ecchi being merely erotic).
Well, that being said, your game sems to be a pleasant one.
However, I still have some questions here:
- Is this going to be a visual novel or a kinetic novel?
- How much time would the game last?
- How many girls will there be?
- Do you plan on adding music (seems somehow like a stupid question but well I'm also stupid heh) ?
- Are you the one who CGed the character? (It's cuuuute!)
I'm rooting for you ! And Kudos for you since you used BCS-chan's BGs.

Okay! To answer your questions:
- It is to be more of a visual novel than anything and you will have the power to choose and influence the game.
- I'm aiming for around half an hour to an hours gameplay all depending on how determined I am, or how much I want to develop the characters.
- At the moment there will be five girls in total.
- Yes, I will add music!
- And finally: Yes, I CG-ed the character~! I'm glad you liked it! It took me two hours last night, mostly fretting over the hair becuase I thought it looked terrible! I plan to CG the others in the same way too.
Thankyou for the support!

I am SO supporting this game!
If you can get the characters voiced by teenagers like yourself then it will be consistent with the thing I had in mind...
...which is that this h-game parody -- made by
real schoolgirls and voiced by
real schoolgirls -- will put all ero-games played by (or made by) perverted men like us, and voiced by 30-something women -- to shame.
Poetic Justice indeed!
But it is indeed the case that some of the best Japanese eroge character designers are women. So who's really polluting the men?

Hehehe.

I am REALLY looking forwards to this! There are so few parody games out there - I can only think of one so far. It will be interesting to see how well you can do the parody =)
One question that yummy didn't ask...how big is this game going to be? I have dial-up, so massive games take forever for me to download

How big? Well, I will try and take as much strain off as possible*coughcutcornerscough* but not so much as to lose quality. So we'll just have to wait and see!
I'm glad I'm getting so much support. In only three weeks I will have about 2 months off, so that'll give me plenty of time to finish this!

So does that mean farewell sweaty aura of escapism and never-had-sex-ourselves-that's-why-we-buy-and-play-schoolgirl-games?

Or... most popular. Maybe it's psychological as well, knowing that the art was drawn by a woman (in a hgame) is more... ummm... exciting. Knowing you'll be doing whatever it is that people like to do while looking at something that was drawn by a guy isn't quite the same as when you know it was drawn by a girl, I should imagine.

Are h-game artists generally male?
I can't say that I've personally ever checked.

Well I haven't checked either, but at least among the prominent ones it seems like 50-50. I don't know if they're the ones who actually draw the --- um, scenes --- but definitely character designer.
I'm talking about commercial JP eroge, the ones which remain untranslated.
Doujinshi is another matter I think.

I think I should update...
Ahem, finished all character CG's although I might wait to release a demo before I show them to the world and to keep you all in suspense. Or not.
Also, I am planning quite a large twist in the game. Which I will have to keep confidential, for it wouldn't be a twist if I leaked it out, ne?
And I have coded probably a few minutes more gameplay...I am a student who has to take exams like everyone else! However, school has ended and I have two months of freedom to work away!
