~Ai Ai You~

[NEWS] Learned the secrets of Maps! YAYAYAY! :) [/NEWS]

[Screenshots info]

Right, they're at the lower part of this post. Hope you haven't imagined what you'll see... 'Cause it ain't much! xD I've added no images to the game so far! The main menu will change in the future to make it look like a little more "internetic". Enjoy! I added the bug animation I made too, the only fault I did WAS not to update Ren'Py! Damned me... xD

BTW, the heart is the cursor! Somehow weird if it is going to be done in the internet? That may have to change? :D

EDIT: I'll move the pics to my photobucket and give links! Those large pictures look annoying! >: D

LINKS TO SCREENSHOTS:

Bug animation, not funny. :|
Main screen, for now. It will change! :)
Not much to see for a first screenshot!

[My story]

Yep. My first serious attempt at making a Ren'Py game. *sigh* I remember those days I wrote a code that never worked, Ren'Py has made big steps. :D It's easier than ever now. -nod- And I understand more.

[Game]

~Ai Ai You~ (NON Hentai game) ^^; Sorry! I just can't imagine me doing that!

[GameStory]

You will play a boy that is searching for the love of his life. You're going to be 16 years of age. A little later on you'll write a name.

Still you are so desperate to find someone that you will use the internet with three sites to choose from. Those are QuestingLove, Sexyladies and Lovefinder. ^^; Yep.

Currently I'm thinking about finding only one girl per site, if this project goes on well... Then there'll maybe be three per site. I hope so.

If you don't succeed with one girl on the internet till you meet her in "real life" you can choose finding an another one or just seeing the bad ending.

If I'll think of more, I'll post it here. ;)

Thanks to our posters here! The forum idea will be something for me to try! <3 <3 <3

[Accomplishments]

- Started ^^; Main menu background finished!
- Wrote some code and made a menu! (For the sitenames)
- Changed from 500x500 to 800x600. (Thanks monele!)
- Lurked at the Ren'Py site to find codes. Preeeeecioussss.
- Added splashscreen at the end. Yes, the end. With kudos.
- Made a "fancy" cursor, Downloaded latest Ren'Py. (Thanks PyTom for helping and absinthe for the code for the cursor you submitted!)
- Found a great code for the naming. :D
- Got ideas from posters! Thank you! (Forums rule here!)
- Posted some smexy screenshots! (^________^;;;)
- Learned about maps! I love the hover thingy! -hovers over- Hey there it is! I've noticed that math is needed in maps... (100, 100, 200, 200) x-angle, y-angle... Well, thanks teacher. If I wouldn't have gone to school, I would still be an caveman.

[WARNING FOR RANDOMNESS]

Do's:

- Think about adding music. (Thinking. Maybe a click sound would do at least? Then maybe you could add an music on/off if possible! And typing sound! YEAH!)
- Do a ctc. (Click-to-continue)
- Pet bunny. -pets bunny-
- Homework. ~__________~ Hopefully school is over in... 6 frickin' days!
- Art. ;D Visual Novel. (Haven't even started!)
- Train Japanese. (Well, it's on stop now.)

Do not do's:

- Kill yourself. Mommy would get sad seeing me dead in front of the computer.
- Get headaches after having a staring contest with the computer.
- Forget the art.
- Forget anything at all, not even breathing.
- Forget that school ends next thursday. >___< A no-no.

[COMING]

Not much right now, I have promised to code a visual novel to a requester so this may have to take a break. But don't kill you hope! I'll be backzors, I promise. :) If I don't come back... You can have my finger.

(I'll be making some art for the game too! But don't expect much, I'm below the level of ren'ai art... Don't you worry! I can use transparencies! ;))

[End.]

Thank you for reading, but if you just skipped everything to read the end... NO PANCAKES FOR YOU!

FEEL FREE TO POST! ;D Any ideas are lovvyfied.

*laughs* Well you seem to be on a high - always a good thing to approximate when trying to do something creative :)

Good luck with this. If you can style things so that it appears the player is really surfing the net, that'd be cool. You can also do the "Train Man" angle and give the player the option of visiting forums for relationship advice.

Hehe... Put the Lemmasoft forum in there as well if you want :P

A virtual Lemmasoft forum in a game... eh eh..... brain hurts, too much to comprehend.

If you do the Forum-within-the-game thing, you could find some inspiration from the .hack series of PS2 games. Due to their concept of you playing as a person playing a game, it has a lot of cool things on the virtual desktop. Like a fake news website and a fake forum website, where new things appear after you get to a certain point in the game.

Hope you keep at it! Definitely sounds interesting.

I'm not really a fan of the fonts since I think you're using what...bit fonts? I see them used mostly on icons at small sizes, which they are suited for; otherwise they look kind of strange. However, that's probably more of a taste thing--besides, I can understand that you're probably using it since it's set online and the font is more or less an 'net font.

Besides that, it's neat to see that you're progressing. I'm hoping to start on a game of my own, but I'm having trouble keeping things simple. Good luck on your game! You seem to have plenty of passion to see it through.

Seem to remember that May Club did a *virtual-to-reality* thing too.

This looks VERY interesting...count me in on those that are waiting with baited breath to play this :)

A forum INSIDE a game? that would be most interesting....wonder how that would work?

Well, it'd have to be very simplified... have only a few sections and few threads. But as you progress through the game, new posts could be added to the threads and new threads could appear.
I guess you could add an option to reply to some threads, but I don't think an absolutely generic system would be good (no typing of posts and no replying to *everything*... just story-based ones?)

I seem to recall hearing the .hack games - at least the first one - had something like this?

The only time I've seen something similar myself was in Front Mission 4, on the PSX... there was a WWW-like system you could access between missions and read about stuff on, with a huge amount of text available for browsing right from the start of the game. But realistically, it just seemed distracting - too plot-sparse to actually be worth reading all of it, but at the same time compelling in case you were missing something vital. :/

Ah, yes. The bit fonts look a little distracting, they're pretty hard to read at fast speed. Maybe I should think about changing them? :) Maybe the font that you use while you're writing at the forums, here? Great idea, makes it look more realistic.

(Now I have to start thinking about all the imgmaps in the game. I haven't done any of those, ever. Being an amateur is hard. ^^;)
