Liebesstiles [GXG] [Romance, Drama]

Hello guys, I’m here to talk a little bit about the visual novel that me and some friends are creating.

About:
Liebesstiles is a doujin visual novel based on the music video Kataomoi Finally from the idol group SKE48. Since the whole plot and things we are doing in the story are based on the song and video clip, I think that it’s right to call this work a doujin visual novel.

Story:
Jurina Matsui is just one of all of girls that go to Sakae High School for girls. Everything in her life was simple and boring, until, for some odd reason, her handsome appearance grabs the attention of a small group of girls. Slowly, as Jurina gets to know more about this school and the girls that study there, she will notice that things aren’t exactly as she thought.
So what choices will she make? Fall in love with some girl and live in peace? Turn into the school’s most popular girl? Or just play around and have some fun?

Features:
Genre: The story happens on an All-girls school, so all the romance will be GirlxGirl. We will have some drama, angst and a little bit of comedy

Rating: +18 (Will have a few eroge scenes and more serious themes like drugs and others)

2 playable modes (Default, following Jurina’s story, and a second one following another character. We are thinking about doing a 3 playable mode in the future, but it will most likely be a spin-off)

6 routes with 21 endings (yes, this a big project for amateurs’ like us, so we will take some to finish everything.)

Progress:
BG’s: 40%
Plot: 35%
GUI: 5%
Programming: 1%
Script: 0%
Art: 3%
BGMS: 0%
(These numbers are based on what we already did and on what I think that needs to be finished, so they can change a lot on the future).

On the next update I’ll post the characters’ profiles, so for now I’ll just leave here this sketch from the main character:

And this is a little example of the novel, the dialogue box will change a few things, so I'm just posting this pic to give you guys a idea
of how we plan to this VN be:

A while ago, there was a work in progress called Lilac Melody that billed itself as "yuri otome." In other words, the writer was creating a girl x girl story, but wanted it to appeal to women regardless of their sexuality. Furthermore, the person wanted to avoid gratuitous fanservice or pornography. (It's been about two months since the last update, and I don't know if it's still active.)

I'm curious as to how you'll portray your setting and your characters' relationships. There's a number of topics which might be relevant:

* Romantic two-girl friendship versus schoolgirl lesbians
* The notion of gay until graduation
* Characters' understanding of their sexuality, from confident to uncertain
* The characters' lives outside of school
* The community nearby (assuming it's not in the middle of nowhere)

_If_ you're planning to focus on NSFW content, then you will benefit by posting in the adult section of the forum. But as far as I can tell, that's not your goal...

When you have time, think carefully about the scope of your story. Especially if you're releasing this as freeware. Make sure it doesn't become so lengthy and complex that it becomes overwhelming. You might benefit by writing the VN route by route. In other words, see if you can start and finish a story, perhaps without any choices. Maybe once you've written other characters' routes, you can compile them into the finished game.

Anything can happen while you're writing, including problems with money, problems with relationships, and natural disasters. Therefore, ask yourself how you will motivate yourself to continue when writing/coding becomes frustrating. Make sure to backup your work in multiple places.

One last thing... I would not object to a visual novel set in Brazil. I haven't been there myself, but I have a few real life friends who've lived in that nation. I realize that it might be too late to reconsider your setting. But ask yourself if the VN would be significantly different if it took place in your home city. And would you need to change more than a few details if it were set in France, or Thailand, or South Africa?

^ Thank you very much for your tips!
They really helped us on thinking about the plot and script, (After read them I noticed things that were missing on the plot and since there are more than two people creating the plot, the things can get a little messed and we need to organize our thoughts to get back the focus, sometimes).

We aren't focusing on the NSFW content, this content will be more used has a part of the plot, like one way that some characters deal with their feelings, since they are teenager girls passing through a lot of things and having to deal with everything that is happening on their life.

This first post was planned to be really simple, since we need to organize somethings, but on the next update I'll explain better about it and put more information. :D
