An artist for hire

Hi, everyone! I'm Mirei, an amateur illustrator. I hope to create my own ren'py game some day, but for now I'm hoping to join an existing project as a character designer/illustrator.
I have a portfolio site here:
http://ballz.ababa.net/atelier
I'd love any kind of feedback, my site's brand new.
Anyway, I would like to join up with a serious developer/programmer, who is really interested in finishing and publishing a game. I love drawing in anime-style, and I'm absolutely fascinated by dating sim and visual novel games.
Thanks,
Mirei

Cool Art!
I wish I could draw but I can't.
I need an artist anyways.
If you want you could team up with me!

My usual advice to artists is that you want to be sure you team up with a reliable writer. This generally means asking to see a script before you commit to a project, or at least a full outline. It's very easy for someone to say "I'm going to make a game, about a ninja who dates robots." It's another thing to have that blocked out scene by scene, something that gives you confidence that somebody is sure where the project is going.

Don't worry, it seems she's a commercial artist, so anyone willing to plunk down money will be pretty sure he got his act together first.

Well, that isn't totally clear from the original post. Hopefully, Merai can clarify if she's interested in working on free projects, or only paying gigs.
(BTW, loved the Carmen Sandiego pic... even if it took me a second to realize what it was.)

Well, I would like to earn some money for my work (starving artist), but I wouldn't charge very much for this type of project, because (1) I
am an unknown, and (2) I want to just get my name out there, you know? I think it's important to be able to show future employers that I've actually done some work, even if it's a small freeware game.
Sorry for the ambiguity of the first post on this matter...
Also, glad you liked the Carmen pic, PyTom.

What part was hard to recognize? The hair?

It's more of a "where have I seen them before" sort of thing. The show last aired something like 8 years ago, and I've probably seen at least 200+ anime series in that time. When I see the characters drawn in anime style, I went first to my list of anime... and couldn't find them there.
