Not A Japan-Related Visual Novel

Hi everyone! I'm Chiri and I'm currently thinking about lots of ideas. One of them is a Christmas-Themed story called: 1/4 Monkey, 1/2 Mouse, 1/2 Human Ex-Bride. The title is weird, and it is a rude bestiality joke, but I just wanted you all to tell me is it okay if you're writing a kind of genre that originate in Japan, but you're writing something out of Japan just because you love writing warm hearted (but downright hilarious) stories, rather than being a otaku with weird Japanese fetishes? I really don't like being the later!

It is okay to write about whatever you desire.
I hope you enjoy making your visual novel.

I'm confused, what was the point of this thread?
Also, not sure you've even posted this in the right section.

Rinima, I think what Fleet was trying to say was "Write whatever story you want to write." In other words, if you're reading this and you want to create a story about a mouse-monkey-hybrid who looks for (or becomes?) a bride, then write it. Don't worry about what other people like or dislike.

You can create a visual novel to design whatever sort of story that you want. One creator has used a visual novel format to create a story about using a computer for hacking during the 1980s. Another creator has used a visual novel format to tell a story about a real life scientist in the 13th century. Yet another creator has used a VN format to convey a story about a sheep trying to stop a war.

Don't let formats limit your creativity. If you were creating a comic, would you tell yourself, "It has to be about superheroes fighting supervillains"? If you were creating a CG animated film, would you tell yourself, "It has to be about sentient animals having adventures"? If you were creating a video game with 3D graphics, would you tell yourself, "It has to be about a bald space marine"?

As a writer/producer (and as of this NaNoRenMo, also a coder - thanx to DragoonHP) who is ready to embark on the quest for making entire series of WW2 themed VNs, I say - YES!

Interesting Question

I was asking that myself.
Should I create a VN that's downright coming from Japan or should I try to just let my own imagination flow.

No matter how you decide,
write whatever floats your goat.

But that comment wasn't aimed at Fleet. It was aimed at the OP.
